أكد رئيس مجلس الأعمال السعودي السوري محمد بن عبدالله أبونيان أن تأسيس المجلس يأتي في وقت مهم تتهيأ فيه سورية لمرحلة جديدة تتطلب تضافر الجهود لإعادة إعمارها، بما يحقق الأمان والاستقرار والازدهار للشعب السوري الشقيق، مؤكداً أن المجلس يعزز دور القطاع الخاص السعودي شريكاً فاعلاً في تطوير الاستثمار بما لديه من قدرات وإمكانيات استثمارية عالية، يمكن توظيفها للاستفادة من الفرص المتاحة هناك.
وأوضح في تصريح لوكالة الأنباء السعودية أن المجلس شرع مباشرة في وضع خطة عمل للأعوام من 2025 – 2030، تهدف لتعزيز التعاون الاقتصادي المستدام بين المملكة وسورية، وإبراز الفرص ودعم الشراكات الإستراتيجية، وتيسير الإجراءات التجارية واللوجستية لصادرات الشركات السعودية، مبيناً أن الخطة تركز على تمكين القطاع الخاص السعودي من استثمار فرص إعادة الإعمار والتنمية المستدامة في سورية، من خلال دعم الصادرات، وتبسيط الإجراءات، وترسيخ حوكمة رشيدة لحماية المستثمرين، وذلك في القطاعات ذات الأولوية التي تشمل البنية التحتية والتجارة وتنمية الصادرات والتطوير العقاري والسياحة والصناعة والأمن الغذائي.
وأفاد بأن عضوية المجلس تضم نخبة من كبار المسؤولين والمستثمرين السعوديين الفاعلين دولياً؛ ما يعزز فرص نجاح أعماله وتحقيق مستهدفاته في دعم مسار العلاقات التجارية والاستثمارية بين البلدين.
وقدم أبونيان في ختام تصريحه تقديره لوزير التجارة الدكتور ماجد القصبي، ووزير الاستثمار المهندس خالد الفالح، على جهودهما في تشكيل المجلس ودعم المنتدى الاستثماري المشترك بسورية، ولرئيس اتحاد الغرف السعودية حسن بن معجب الحويزي، لدعمه المستمر لأصحاب الأعمال السعوديين لتحقيق المستهدفات الوطنية والتوسع في الأسواق الخارجية.
Saudi-Syrian Business Council Chairman Mohammed bin Abdullah Abunayan confirmed that the establishment of the council comes at an important time as Syria prepares for a new phase that requires concerted efforts for its reconstruction, achieving safety, stability, and prosperity for the brotherly Syrian people. He emphasized that the council enhances the role of the Saudi private sector as an active partner in developing investment, leveraging its high capabilities and investment potential, which can be utilized to take advantage of the available opportunities there.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, he explained that the council has begun to directly develop a work plan for the years 2025 – 2030, aimed at enhancing sustainable economic cooperation between the Kingdom and Syria, highlighting opportunities, supporting strategic partnerships, and facilitating commercial and logistical procedures for Saudi companies' exports. He noted that the plan focuses on enabling the Saudi private sector to invest in reconstruction and sustainable development opportunities in Syria by supporting exports, simplifying procedures, and establishing sound governance to protect investors, particularly in priority sectors including infrastructure, trade, export development, real estate, tourism, industry, and food security.
He reported that the council's membership includes a select group of prominent Saudi officials and investors who are active internationally, which enhances the chances of success in its operations and achieving its objectives in supporting the course of trade and investment relations between the two countries.
At the end of his statement, Abunayan expressed his appreciation to the Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi and the Minister of Investment Engineer Khalid Al-Falih for their efforts in forming the council and supporting the joint investment forum in Syria, and to the Chairman of the Saudi Chambers Federation Hassan bin Mujahed Al-Huwaizi for his continued support for Saudi business owners to achieve national objectives and expand into foreign markets.
