ارتفعت أسعار النفط عند التسوية بنهاية تداولاته الأسبوعية، وسط تزايد قلق المستثمرين من عدم إحراز تقدم كاف في المحادثات بين ممثلين من إيران والولايات المتحدة لتفادي وقوع عمل عسكري، إلا أن أسعار الخام سجلت أول خسارة أسبوعية منذ بداية العام الحالي.
وصعدت العقود الآجلة لخام برنت 50 سنتا أو 0.74% إلى 68.05 دولار للبرميل، إلا أنها هبطت بنسبة 3.7% خلال الأسبوع.
وزاد خام غرب تكساس الوسيط الأميركي 26 سنتا أو 0.41% إلى 63.55 دولار للبرميل، فيما سجل خسارة أسبوعية بنسبة 2.5%.
وعقدت إيران والولايات المتحدة مفاوضات بوساطة من سلطنة عُمان في مسعى لتجاوز الأزمة المتعلقة بالبرنامج النووي الإيراني.
قال الشريك في أجين كابيتال جون كيلدوف: «نشهد تقلبات مستمرة بشأن الوضع في إيران. يتحسن الوضع يوما ما، أو حتى ساعة واحدة، ثم يسوء في اليوم التالي. إنه قلق بشأن الوضع الراهن فيما يتعلق بإيران».
وأفاد التلفزيون الإيراني الرسمي اختتام المحادثات، وقال وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي إن فريقي التفاوض سيعودان إلى بلديهما لإجراء المشاورات، وإن المحادثات ستستأنف.
Oil prices rose at the close of their weekly trading, amid increasing investor concerns over insufficient progress in talks between representatives from Iran and the United States to avoid military action. However, crude prices recorded their first weekly loss since the beginning of this year.
Brent crude futures increased by 50 cents or 0.74% to $68.05 per barrel, but they fell by 3.7% during the week.
U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude rose by 26 cents or 0.41% to $63.55 per barrel, while it recorded a weekly loss of 2.5%.
Iran and the United States held negotiations mediated by Oman in an effort to overcome the crisis related to the Iranian nuclear program.
John Kilduff, a partner at Again Capital, said: “We are witnessing ongoing fluctuations regarding the situation in Iran. The situation improves one day, or even one hour, then worsens the next day. It’s a concern about the current state regarding Iran.”
The Iranian state television reported the conclusion of the talks, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that the negotiating teams would return to their countries for consultations, and that the talks would resume.
