عقد وزير التجارة رئيس مجلس إدارة المركز الوطني للتنافسية الدكتور ماجد القصبي اجتماعا مع وفد بريطاني تقدمته وزيرة الخزانة راشيل ريفز، ووزير الاستثمار جيسون ستوكوود، والسفير البريطاني لدى المملكة الدكتور ستيفن تشارلز هيتشين، وعدد من المسؤولين البريطانيين.
وبحث خلال الاجتماع سبل تعزيز العلاقات التجارية والاقتصادية بين البلدين الصديقين، مع التركيز على القطاعات ذات الأولوية والواعدة.
مبادرات ومستجدات
وتناول الجانبان التعاون في مجالات الخدمات المالية، والتقنية المالية (Fintech)، والتجارة الإلكترونية، والابتكار، والتصنيع المتقدم، وسلاسل الإمداد، وتعزيز التنافسية، والصادرات، إضافة إلى استعراض أبرز المبادرات والمستجدات المشتركة التي تعمل عليها اللجنة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية في مجلس الشراكة الإستراتيجي السعودي-البريطاني.
يذكر أن الاجتماع جاء على هامش أعمال النسخة التاسعة من مؤتمر مبادرة مستقبل الاستثمار، الذي انطلقت أعماله اليوم في مركز الملك عبدالعزيز الدولي للمؤتمرات بالرياض، تحت شعار «مفتاح الازدهار».
The Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of the National Competitiveness Center, Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi, held a meeting with a British delegation led by Treasury Secretary Rachel Reeves, Investment Minister Jason Stockwood, the British Ambassador to the Kingdom, Dr. Stephen Charles Hitchen, and several British officials.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance trade and economic relations between the two friendly countries, focusing on priority and promising sectors.
Initiatives and Developments
The two sides addressed cooperation in the fields of financial services, financial technology (Fintech), e-commerce, innovation, advanced manufacturing, supply chains, enhancing competitiveness, and exports, in addition to reviewing the most prominent joint initiatives and developments being worked on by the Economic and Social Committee in the Saudi-British Strategic Partnership Council.
It is noteworthy that the meeting took place on the sidelines of the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative conference, which commenced today at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, under the slogan "The Key to Prosperity."
