أعلنت وزارة البيئة والمياه والزراعة ارتفاع إجمالي إنتاج السلع الزراعية والغذائية إلى أكثر من 16 مليون طن في عام 2024.
وذكرت الوزارة أن ذلك أسهم في زيادة مساهمة القطاع في الناتج المحلي الإجمالي ووصولها إلى نحو 31.5 مليار دولار (ما يعادل 118.1 مليار ريال).
جاء ذلك خلال مشاركة مدير إدارة تنفيذ الإستراتيجية الوطنية للزراعة بالوزارة المهندس علي أحمد الزهراني في جلسة حوارية ضمن أحد المعارض الزراعية السعودية أخيراً.
مبادرات وطنية
وبيَّن أن الوزارة أطلقت 38 مبادرة وطنية، ضمن الاستراتيجية الوطنية للزراعة، مبيناً أن القطاع الزراعي حقق تقدماً ملحوظاً ومنجزاتٍ كبيرة في العديد من مؤشرات الإنتاج الزراعي، إذ تجاوز معدل النمو السنوي المركب للناتج المحلي خلال السنوات الخمس الماضية 7%، كما أسهم تطبيق أنظمة الري الفعالة في خفض استخدام المياه غير المجدّدة في الزراعة بنسبة 52% مقارنة بعام 2016، فيما ارتفع إجمالي القروض الزراعية الميسرة المقدمة من قبل صندوق التنمية الزراعية بأكثر من 1.9 مليار دولار.
فرص استثمارية
وأشار الزهراني إلى العديد من الفرص الاستثمارية للقطاع الخاص في مجالات الإنتاج النباتي والحيواني، اشتملت على مشاريع متكاملة لإنتاج البذور والشتلات، وإنتاج ومعالجة الفواكه والخضراوات، ومشاريع تربية الماشية المكثفة، والاستزراع السمكي، وإنتاج الدواجن بأحجام كبيرة لأغراض المقطعات، مضيفاً أن الإنتاج المحلي الإجمالي للفواكه تجاوز 2.9 مليون طن شاملة التمور، باكتفاء ذاتي بلغ نسبة 64%، معتمدة في إنتاجها بشكل رئيسي على الأنظمة المكشوفة، مع توسع ملحوظ في أنظمة البيوت المظللة، فيما تجاوز الإنتاج المحلي للخضروات 3.5 مليون طن، بنسبة اكتفاء ذاتي بلغت 78%.
The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture announced that the total production of agricultural and food commodities has risen to more than 16 million tons in 2024.
The ministry stated that this has contributed to an increase in the sector's contribution to the gross domestic product, reaching approximately 31.5 billion dollars (equivalent to 118.1 billion riyals).
This announcement came during the participation of the Director of the National Agriculture Strategy Implementation Department at the ministry, Engineer Ali Ahmed Al-Zahrani, in a dialogue session at one of the recent Saudi agricultural exhibitions.
National Initiatives
He indicated that the ministry has launched 38 national initiatives as part of the national agriculture strategy, noting that the agricultural sector has made significant progress and achieved major accomplishments in many agricultural production indicators. The compound annual growth rate of the gross domestic product over the past five years has exceeded 7%. Additionally, the implementation of effective irrigation systems has reduced the use of non-renewable water in agriculture by 52% compared to 2016, while the total facilitated agricultural loans provided by the Agricultural Development Fund has increased by more than 1.9 billion dollars.
Investment Opportunities
Al-Zahrani pointed out many investment opportunities for the private sector in the fields of plant and animal production, including integrated projects for seed and seedling production, fruit and vegetable production and processing, intensive livestock breeding projects, aquaculture, and large-scale poultry production for processing purposes. He added that the total domestic production of fruits has exceeded 2.9 million tons, including dates, with a self-sufficiency rate of 64%, primarily relying on open systems, along with a noticeable expansion in shaded greenhouse systems. Meanwhile, domestic vegetable production has surpassed 3.5 million tons, with a self-sufficiency rate of 78%.
