خصصت وزارة الصناعة والثروة المعدنية، ستة مواقع لإقامة مجمعات تعدينية في مناطق الرياض، وعسير، والشرقية؛ سعيًا منها لتطوير البيئة الاستثمارية التعدينية في المملكة، وتعزيز شفافيتها وجاذبيتها للمستثمرين.
وأوضح المتحدث باسم الوزارة جراح الجراح أن المواقع المخصصة شملت أربعة مجمعات في منطقة عسير؛ وهي: مجمع تعديني على طريق خميس مشيط – بيشة بمحافظة بيشة، تبلغ مساحته 36.33 كيلومتر مربع، ومجمع تعديني غرب صبيخة بمحافظة طريب، تبلغ مساحته 14.56 كيلومتر مربع، ومجمع تعديني بخميس مشيط رقم 1 بمحافظة خميس مشيط، وتغطي مساحته 12.25 كيلومتر مربع، ومجمع تعديني بخميس مشيط رقم 2 بمحافظة خميس مشيط، وتبلغ مساحته 13.08 كيلومتر مربع.
وبيّن أن الوزارة خصصت في منطقة الرياض موقعًا لإقامة مجمع تعديني شمال شرق محافظة بني تميم للأنشطة التعدينية على مساحة8.68 كيلومتر مربع، فيما خصصت في المنطقة الشرقية موقعًا لإقامة مجمع تعديني شرق غونان للأنشطة التعدينية بمحافظة بقيق، وتصل مساحته إلى 15.57 كيلومتر مربع.
وأكد الجراح أن إقامة المجمعات التعدينية، يعزز مبادئ الحوكمة في قطاع التعدين، ويزيد من شفافيته، ويرفع ثقة المستثمرين فيه، كما يؤدي دورًا مهمًا في تحقيق عناصر الاستدامة بالمشروعات التعدينية، مشيرًا إلى الاهتمام الذي توليه الوزارة بالمحافظة على البيئة والصحة والسلامة المهنية، وتحفيز المجتمعات المحلية على المشاركة في مسارات نمو قطاع التعدين وفقًا لنظام الاستثمار التعديني.
وتسهم المجمعات التعدينية في تنمية المناطق المجاورة لها، من خلال توظيف أبناء هذه المناطق في مشروعات التعدين، ورفع نسبة عمليات الشراء من الأسواق المحلية، ووضع خطط للتواصل الفعَّال في المنطقة المحيطة بالمشروع، ورفع مستوى الامتثال للاشتراطات البيئية اللازمة في مواقع الأنشطة التعدينية والمجتمعات المحيطة بها، وإعادة التأهيل والإغلاق للمواقع التعدينية.

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has allocated six sites for the establishment of mining complexes in the regions of Riyadh, Asir, and the Eastern Province; in an effort to develop the mining investment environment in the Kingdom and enhance its transparency and attractiveness to investors.
The ministry's spokesperson, Jirrah Al-Jirrah, explained that the designated sites included four complexes in the Asir region; these are: a mining complex on the Khamis Mushait – Bisha road in Bisha Governorate, covering an area of 36.33 square kilometers, a mining complex west of Subaiha in Tarib Governorate, covering an area of 14.56 square kilometers, a mining complex in Khamis Mushait No. 1 in Khamis Mushait Governorate, covering an area of 12.25 square kilometers, and a mining complex in Khamis Mushait No. 2 in Khamis Mushait Governorate, covering an area of 13.08 square kilometers.
He indicated that the ministry has allocated a site in the Riyadh region for the establishment of a mining complex northeast of Bani Tamim Governorate for mining activities, covering an area of 8.68 square kilometers, while in the Eastern Province, a site has been allocated for the establishment of a mining complex east of Gunan for mining activities in Al-Biqaiq Governorate, with an area of 15.57 square kilometers.
Al-Jirrah confirmed that the establishment of mining complexes enhances governance principles in the mining sector, increases its transparency, and boosts investor confidence in it. It also plays an important role in achieving sustainability elements in mining projects, pointing to the ministry's commitment to preserving the environment and occupational health and safety, as well as encouraging local communities to participate in the growth paths of the mining sector in accordance with the mining investment system.
The mining complexes contribute to the development of the surrounding areas by employing local residents in mining projects, increasing the percentage of purchases from local markets, establishing effective communication plans in the area surrounding the project, raising the level of compliance with the necessary environmental requirements at mining activity sites and the surrounding communities, and rehabilitating and closing mining sites.
