وصفت روسيا تصريحات الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب التي هدد فيها بزيادة الرسوم الجمركية المفروضة على الهند مجدداً بسبب شرائها النفط من روسيا؛ بأنها غير قانونية.
وأكد المتحدث باسم الكرملين ديميتري بيسكوف اليوم (الثلاثاء) قائلاً: موسكو تعتبر الضغوط على شركائها التجاريين بمثابة تهديدات، مشدداً على أن لكل دولة ذات سيادة الحق في اختيار شركائها الاقتصاديين بحرية، دون تدخل خارجي، وفقاً لوكالات غربية.
يأتي هذا بعدما رفضت الحكومة الهندية بشدة تهديدات ترمب بفرض رسوم جمركية إضافية على صادراتها، وأكد مسؤولون أنه لم يطرأ أي تغيير على سياسة استيراد الطاقة، وأن شركات النفط لم تتلقَّ أي تعليمات لخفض مشترياتها من روسيا.
وبعد فرض الولايات المتحدة رسوماً جمركية بنسبة 25% على السلع المستوردة من الهند اعتباراً من الأول من أغسطس، هدد ترمب بتشديد القيود التجارية الأمريكية ضد الهند، حال مواصلتها شراء النفط الروسي.

Russia described U.S. President Donald Trump's statements, in which he threatened to increase tariffs imposed on India again due to its purchase of oil from Russia, as illegal.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed today (Tuesday), stating: Moscow considers pressure on its trade partners as threats, emphasizing that every sovereign country has the right to choose its economic partners freely, without external interference, according to Western agencies.
This comes after the Indian government strongly rejected Trump's threats of imposing additional tariffs on its exports, with officials confirming that there has been no change in energy import policy, and that oil companies have not received any instructions to reduce their purchases from Russia.
After the United States imposed a 25% tariff on goods imported from India starting August 1, Trump threatened to tighten U.S. trade restrictions against India if it continued to purchase Russian oil.
