A member of the European Central Bank's Governing Council, Yannis Stournaras, said today (Friday): "If the European economy experiences further weakness, the bank may lower interest rates again, although this is not expected," according to Bloomberg.

The European Central Bank lowered interest rates for the seventh consecutive time yesterday (Thursday) to support the eurozone economy, which was facing difficulties even before the volatile U.S. economic and trade policies dealt it further shocks.
