وكان إيشيبا قد أعلن استقالته، ما يمهد الطريق لفترة محتملة طويلة من عدم اليقين السياسي في لحظة حساسة بالنسبة لرابع أكبر اقتصاد في العالم.
تقليص الخسائر
وانخفض الين كرد فعل في التعاملات الآسيوية، واستقر في النهاية على انخفاض بنسبة 0.5 % مقابل الدولار عند 148.16، بعد أن قلص بعض خسائره خلال الجلسة. كما تراجع الين إلى أدنى مستوى له في أكثر من عام مقابل اليورو والجنيه الإسترليني عند 173.91 و200.33 على التوالي.
ويركز المستثمرون على احتمالية أن يحل محل إيشيبا مدافع عن سياسات مالية ونقدية أكثر مرونة، مثل سانا تاتايشي، المحنكة في الحزب الديمقراطي الليبرالي، التي انتقدت رفع بنك اليابان لأسعار الفائدة.
