اجتمع قادة روسيا والصين والهند وسبع دول أخرى، اليوم، في شمال الصين لحضور أحدث قمة سنوية لـ«منظمة شنغهاي للتعاون».
وتأسست «منظمة شنغهاي للتعاون» قبل 24 عاماً، إلا أن ضغوط الرئيس الأمريكي على الهند أكسب قمتها أهمية كبرى مع ازدياد حجم وتأثير المنظمة، التي تضم 10 دول يمثلون تقريباً نصف سكان الأرض.
ومنذ تأسيسها عام 2001، هيمنت الصين، القوة الاقتصادية العظمى الإقليمية، بشكل أساسي على منظمة شنغهاي للتعاون، حيث سعت روسيا إلى استخدام المجموعة للحفاظ على نفوذها في جمهوريات آسيا الوسطى السوفيتية السابقة، كازاخستان وأوزبكستان وطاجيكستان وقيرغيزستان.
وقال أستاذ العلوم السياسية بجامعة شيكاغو دالي يانغ: «منظمة شنغهاي للتعاون تُعد واحدة من أبرز المنظمات الإقليمية التي شاركت الصين في تأسيسها.
وأضاف يانغ: «بالنسبة للقيادة الصينية، هناك تركيز كبير على الحفاظ على العلاقات القائمة على الساحة الدولية».
وأوضح خبير السياسة الصينية بجامعة ميامي جون تيوفيل دراير، أن منظمة شنغهاي للتعاون تبدو وكأنها تريد الانتقال من كونها منصة حوار إلى آلية متكاملة للتعاون العملي تحقق نتائج ملموسة لمواطني الدول الأعضاء.

Leaders from Russia, China, India, and seven other countries gathered today in northern China for the latest annual summit of the "Shanghai Cooperation Organization."
Founded 24 years ago, the "Shanghai Cooperation Organization" has gained significant importance due to U.S. President Biden's pressures on India, coinciding with the growing size and influence of the organization, which includes 10 countries representing nearly half of the world's population.
Since its establishment in 2001, China, the regional economic superpower, has primarily dominated the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, while Russia has sought to use the group to maintain its influence in the former Soviet Central Asian republics of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
Dalai Yang, a political science professor at the University of Chicago, stated: "The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is one of the most prominent regional organizations that China helped establish."
Yang added: "For Chinese leadership, there is a strong focus on maintaining relationships on the international stage."
John Teofield Dreyer, a Chinese politics expert at the University of Miami, explained that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization seems to want to transition from being a dialogue platform to an integrated mechanism for practical cooperation that delivers tangible results for the citizens of member states.
