U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he will soon announce tariffs on the pharmaceutical sector.

For its part, Belgium welcomed the trade agreement reached between the European Union and the United States, as Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever expressed his satisfaction with this development.

De Wever congratulated European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen for her leadership role in the negotiations that led to this agreement, praising her diplomatic efforts that contributed to bridging the views of both sides.

He pointed out that there are many points that still need clarification, warning at the same time against rushing to celebrate, in light of what he described as ongoing threats of imposing high tariffs that could disrupt the smooth flow of trade.

Recently, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States and the European Union had reached a massive trade agreement, in addition to a 15% tariff rate.

Trump said in a speech after meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Scotland: "I believe this is the largest agreement ever reached."

He explained that under the new agreement, the European Union agrees to purchase energy products from the United States worth $750 billion, in addition to military equipment, and that the European Union will invest an additional $600 billion in the U.S. economy, while opening its markets to American products without tariffs, indicating that the United States will impose a basic tariff of 15% on all goods imported from the European Union, including cars.

For her part, the President of the European Commission praised the agreement, describing it as "good."
