كشف رئيس الوزراء الهولندي ديك شوف أن إعلان الولايات المتحدة أنها ستفرض رسوماً جمركية بنسبة 30% على سلع الاتحاد الأوروبي اعتباراً من أول أغسطس القادم «أمر مقلق» وليس أفضل مسار للمضي قدماً.
وقال في منشور على إكس: «بوسع المفوضية الأوروبية الاعتماد على دعمنا الكامل، وبصفتنا الاتحاد الأوروبي يجب أن نظل متحدين وحازمين في السعي لتحقيق نتيجة مع الولايات المتحدة تكون مفيدة للطرفين».
وكانت المفوضية الأوروبية قد أعلنت أنها مستعدة للتوصل لحل بشأن الرسوم الأمريكية قبل 1 أغسطس.
وأوضح 3 مسؤولين من الاتحاد الأوروبي أن فرض الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب رسوماً جمركية بنسبة 30% على البضائع الواردة من الاتحاد الأوروبي اعتباراً من الأول من أغسطس القادم تكتيك تفاوضي.
وكان ترمب قد فرض الرسوم على اثنين من أكبر الشركاء التجاريين للولايات المتحدة (المكسيك، والاتحاد الأوروبي) في خطابات نشرها عبر حسابه على موقع «تروث سوشيال».
وأقر ترمب في خطابه للرئيسة المكسيكية كلوديا شينباوم بأن البلاد كانت متعاونة في الحد من تدفق مخدر الفينتانيل والمهاجرين الذين لا يحملون وثائق رسمية إلى الولايات المتحدة.
لكنه ذكر أن البلاد لم تقم بما يكفي لمنع أمريكا الشمالية من التحول إلى «ملعب لتهريب المخدرات». وقال ترمب في خطابه للاتحاد الأوروبي: «إن العجز التجاري الأمريكي يمثل تهديداً للأمن القومي».
وأضاف في خطابه للاتحاد الأوروبي: «ناقشنا علاقتنا التجارية مع الاتحاد الأوروبي لسنوات، وخلصنا إلى أننا لا بد أن نبتعد عن مواطن العجز التجاري الكبيرة وطويلة الأمد والمستمرة التي تعرضها سياساتكم الجمركية وغير الجمركية والحواجز التجارية للخطر، وللأسف كانت علاقتنا بعيدة عن مبدأ المعاملة بالمثل».
وكان ترمب، الذي تولى منصبه في 20 يناير الماضي، قد اتخذ قرارات بشأن الرسوم الجمركية صدمت الأسواق المالية وأثارت موجة من الضبابية في الاقتصاد العالمي.
وأول فبراير الماضي فرض ترمب رسوماً جمركية بنسبة 25% على الواردات المكسيكية ومعظم الواردات الكندية، و10% على السلع الواردة من الصين، التي طالبها بمنع تدفق مادة الفنتانيل الأفيونية الصناعية، والهجرة غير المشروعة إلى الولايات المتحدة.

Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof revealed that the announcement by the United States to impose a 30% tariff on European Union goods starting August 1st is "concerning" and not the best way forward.
He stated in a post on X: "The European Commission can count on our full support, and as the European Union, we must remain united and firm in seeking a mutually beneficial outcome with the United States."
The European Commission had announced that it is ready to reach a solution regarding the American tariffs before August 1st.
Three EU officials clarified that President Donald Trump's imposition of a 30% tariff on goods coming from the European Union starting August 1st is a negotiating tactic.
Trump had imposed tariffs on two of the United States' largest trading partners (Mexico and the European Union) in statements he published through his account on "Truth Social".
Trump acknowledged in his speech to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum that the country had been cooperative in reducing the flow of fentanyl drugs and undocumented migrants into the United States.
However, he mentioned that the country had not done enough to prevent North America from becoming "a playground for drug trafficking." Trump stated in his speech to the European Union: "The American trade deficit poses a threat to national security."
He added in his speech to the European Union: "We have discussed our trade relationship with the European Union for years, and we have concluded that we must move away from the large, long-term, and ongoing trade deficits that your tariff and non-tariff policies and trade barriers pose, and unfortunately, our relationship has been far from the principle of reciprocity."
Trump, who took office on January 20th, has made decisions regarding tariffs that have shocked financial markets and sparked a wave of uncertainty in the global economy.
On February 1st, Trump imposed a 25% tariff on Mexican imports and most Canadian imports, and 10% on goods coming from China, which he demanded to prevent the flow of the synthetic opioid fentanyl and illegal immigration into the United States.
