اختتمت وول ستريت آخر تعاملات لها على تراجع لتسجل خسارة أسبوعية، متأثرة بانخفاض سهم شركة «ميتا بلاتفورمز» والضبابية المتزايدة بشأن السياسات التجارية، بعد تكثيف الرئيس دونالد ترمب هجومه على كندا وتهديده بفرض رسوم جمركية إضافية.
وكان ترمب قد أعلن في وقت متأخر أمس تصعيداً جديداً في حرب الرسوم الجمركية، حيث قال إن الولايات المتحدة ستفرض رسوماً بنسبة 35% على الواردات الكندية الشهر القادم، كما تعتزم فرض رسوم شاملة تتراوح بين 15- 20% على معظم الشركاء التجاريين الآخرين.
وتراجع المؤشر ستاندرد آند بورز 500 من مستواه القياسي المرتفع الذي بلغه في الجلسة السابقة، وسط حالة من الحذر بعد فرض ترمب رسوماً جمركية بنسبة 50% على البرازيل، واستعداد الاتحاد الأوروبي لتلقي رسالة منه تتضمن تفاصيل إضافية عن الرسوم الجديدة المحتملة.
وفي المقابل، سجلت أسهم شركة إنفيديا أعلى مستوى لها خلال تعاملات اليوم، لكنها لم تكن كافية لتعويض الضغط العام على السوق.
وهبط المؤشر ستاندرد آند بورز 500 بمقدار 21.62 نقطة أو 0.34% ليغلق عند 6258.84 نقطة، فيما خسر 0.31% في أسبوع.
وتراجع المؤشر ناسداك المجمع 48.44 نقطة أو 0.23% إلى 20582.23 نقطة، بينما انخفض 0.08% خلال الأسبوع.
أما المؤشر داو جونز الصناعي فقد انخفض 291.06 نقطة أو 0.65% إلى 44359.58 نقطة، في حين سجل تراجعاً أسبوعياً بنسبة 1.02%.

Wall Street wrapped up its last trading session with a decline, recording a weekly loss, influenced by the drop in shares of "Meta Platforms" and the increasing uncertainty regarding trade policies, following President Donald Trump's intensified attacks on Canada and his threat to impose additional tariffs.
Trump announced late yesterday a new escalation in the tariff war, stating that the United States would impose a 35% tariff on Canadian imports next month, and plans to impose comprehensive tariffs ranging from 15-20% on most other trading partners.
The S&P 500 index fell from its record high reached in the previous session, amid a cautious atmosphere following Trump's imposition of a 50% tariff on Brazil, and the European Union's readiness to receive a message from him containing additional details about the potential new tariffs.
In contrast, shares of Nvidia reached their highest level during today's trading, but this was not enough to offset the overall pressure on the market.
The S&P 500 index dropped by 21.62 points or 0.34% to close at 6258.84 points, while losing 0.31% for the week.
The Nasdaq composite index fell by 48.44 points or 0.23% to 20582.23 points, while declining 0.08% during the week.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased by 291.06 points or 0.65% to 44359.58 points, while recording a weekly decline of 1.02%.
