وجّه الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، الجمعة، تحذيراً شديد اللهجة إلى شركة أبل، ملوحاً بفرض رسوم جمركية بنسبة 25% على منتجاتها ما لم تنقل تصنيع هواتف آيفون إلى داخل الولايات المتحدة.
وقال ترمب في منشور عبر منصته «تروث سوشيال»: «لقد أبلغت تيم كوك منذ فترة طويلة أنني أتوقع أن يتم تصنيع هواتف آيفون داخل الولايات المتحدة، وليس في الهند أو أي مكان آخر»، مشيراً إلى أن تجاهل هذا الطلب سيؤدي إلى فرض رسوم لا تقل عن 25%.
وتأتي تصريحات ترمب في ظل استمرار تداعيات سياسة الرسوم الجمركية التصعيدية التي أطلقها في مارس الماضي، والتي شملت رفع التعريفات على الواردات الصينية إلى أكثر من 140%، قبل أن يتم الإعلان لاحقاً عن تخفيضها.
وكشفت مصادر مطلعة، نقلتها صحيفة «فاينانشال تايمز»، أن شركة أبل تخطط لنقل كامل إنتاج هواتف آيفون المخصصة للسوق الأمريكية إلى الهند بحلول عام 2026. وتبيع أبل أكثر من 220 مليون جهاز آيفون سنوياً حول العالم، منها نحو 60 مليوناً في السوق الأمريكية.

Informed sources, as reported by the Financial Times, revealed that Apple plans to move all production of iPhones intended for the U.S. market to India by 2026. Apple sells more than 220 million iPhones annually worldwide, with about 60 million of those in the U.S. market.
