تتجه العاصمة اللبنانية بيروت إلى تخليد اسمي الموسيقار الراحل زياد الرحباني والفنان الراحل أحمد قعبور، عبر إطلاق اسميهما على شارعين في المدينة، في خطوة تهدف إلى تكريم إرثهما الفني والثقافي وصون حضورهما في الذاكرة اللبنانية.
وتدرس بلدية بيروت تسمية أحد شوارع منطقة رأس بيروت باسم زياد الرحباني، فيما يحمل شارع في منطقة عين المريسة اسم أحمد قعبور، على أن يُعرض الاقتراحان على المجلس البلدي تمهيدًا لإقرارهما رسميًا.
وأكدت دائرة العلاقات العامة في بلدية بيروت، في بيان، أن المبادرة تأتي تقديرًا لما تركه الفنانان من بصمة راسخة في الموسيقى والثقافة اللبنانية، ولدورهما في تشكيل وجدان أجيال متعاقبة وإثراء المشهد الفني على مدى عقود.
من جانبه، أوضح محافظ بيروت مروان عبود أن زياد الرحباني يُعد أحد أبرز رموز الموسيقى والمسرح في العالم العربي، فيما شكّل أحمد قعبور علامة فارقة في الأغنية الوطنية والإنسانية، مشيرًا إلى أن إطلاق اسميهما على شوارع العاصمة يُجسد وفاءً لمسيرتهما وحفاظًا على الذاكرة الثقافية للبنان.
ويتزامن الاقتراح مع مرور عام على رحيل زياد الرحباني، الذي توفي في 26 يوليو 2025، بعد مسيرة فنية حافلة بالأعمال الموسيقية والمسرحية التي رسخت مكانته كواحد من أبرز المبدعين في لبنان والعالم العربي.
وفي الذكرى الأولى لرحيله، أحيت السيدة فيروز ذكرى نجلها بظهور مؤثر داخل إحدى الكنائس، في صورة نشرتها ابنتها ريما الرحباني عبر منصات التواصل الاجتماعي.
وأرفقت ريما الصورة بمقطع من أغنية «عم يلعبو الأولاد»، في رسالة حملت مشاعر الحنين والوفاء، واستحضرت ذكرى زياد الرحباني الذي ترك إرثًا فنيًا لا يزال حاضرًا في وجدان جمهوره.
The Lebanese capital, Beirut, is moving towards commemorating the names of the late musician Ziad Rahbani and the late artist Ahmad Qabour by naming two streets in the city after them, in a step aimed at honoring their artistic and cultural legacy and preserving their presence in the Lebanese memory.
The Beirut municipality is considering naming one of the streets in the Ras Beirut area after Ziad Rahbani, while a street in the Ain al-Mreisseh area will bear the name of Ahmad Qabour, with both proposals to be presented to the municipal council for official approval.
The Public Relations Department of the Beirut municipality confirmed in a statement that the initiative comes in appreciation of the lasting impact the two artists have left on Lebanese music and culture, and their role in shaping the sentiments of successive generations and enriching the artistic scene over decades.
For his part, Beirut Governor Marwan Abboud clarified that Ziad Rahbani is considered one of the most prominent symbols of music and theater in the Arab world, while Ahmad Qabour marked a significant milestone in national and humanitarian song, pointing out that naming streets in the capital after them embodies loyalty to their legacy and preserves Lebanon's cultural memory.
The proposal coincides with the first anniversary of Ziad Rahbani's passing, who died on July 26, 2025, after a rich artistic career filled with musical and theatrical works that solidified his status as one of the most prominent creators in Lebanon and the Arab world.
On the first anniversary of his death, the singer Fairuz commemorated her son with a touching appearance inside one of the churches, in a photo shared by her daughter Rima Rahbani on social media platforms.
Rima accompanied the photo with a clip from the song "The Children Are Playing," in a message that carried feelings of nostalgia and loyalty, evoking the memory of Ziad Rahbani, who left an artistic legacy that is still present in the hearts of his audience.
