في لحظة تطوي صفحة أحد أبرز العقول التي شكّلت ملامح الموسيقى العالمية خلال العقود الأخيرة، أعلنت مصادر عائلية وفاة المنتج الموسيقي الشهير Clive Davis عن عمر ناهز 94 عاماً، في منزله بمدينة نيويورك.
وأكدت وكيلته أليزا رابينوف أن ديفيس توفي (الإثنين) 22 يونيو الجاري، مشيرة إلى أنه رحل بسلام نتيجة مضاعفات مرتبطة بتقدّم العمر، وكان محاطاً بعائلته وأحبائه في لحظاته الأخيرة.
ويُعد ديفيس واحداً من أكثر الأسماء تأثيراً في تاريخ صناعة الموسيقى الحديثة، إذ ارتبط اسمه باكتشاف ورعاية عدد من أبرز نجوم العالم، من بينهم Whitney Houston، وBruce Springsteen، وAretha Franklin، وJanis Joplin، وAlicia Keys، وCarlos Santana، وغيرهم ممن شكّلوا علامات فارقة في تاريخ الموسيقى.
وفي بيان عائلي، عبّر أقاربه عن حزنهم العميق، مؤكدين أنه لم يكن مجرد اسم لامع في عالم الإنتاج الموسيقي، بل شخصية إنسانية حاضرة داخل عائلته كأب وجدّ وداعم دائم، مشيرين إلى أن إرثه الفني والإنساني سيبقى ممتداً عبر الأجيال.

ورغم نجاحاته الواسعة، واجه في سنواته الأخيرة تحديات صحية، من بينها إصابته بالشلل عام 2021، إلى جانب دخوله المستشفى فترة قصيرة في مايو الماضي بسبب مشكلة تنفسية.
وتم تكريمه عام 2000 بإدخاله إلى قاعة مشاهير الروك آند رول، تقديراً لدوره البارز في تشكيل ملامح الموسيقى العالمية وإسهاماته التي امتدت لعقود.
