نشرت الصفحة الرسمية للفنان محمود حجازي على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي «فيسبوك» أول تعليق له عقب الإعلان عن إلقاء القبض عليه، حيث اكتفى بنشر آية قرآنية جاء فيها: «وَيَمْكُرُونَ وَيَمْكُرُ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرُ الْمَاكِرِينَ»، في إشارة اعتبرها متابعون تعبيرًا عن ثقته في عدالة القضاء وتدبير الله.

وكانت الأجهزة الأمنية بمديرية أمن القاهرة ألقت القبض على الفنان محمود حجازي، على خلفية اتهامه بالتحرش بسيدة داخل أحد الفنادق الشهيرة بالعاصمة.

وعقب البلاغ، تحفظت الشرطة على الفنان محمود حجازي، وتمت إحالته إلى النيابة العامة التي باشرت تحقيقات موسعة في الواقعة، شملت الاستماع إلى أقوال الطرفين، وفحص التحريات، ومراجعة كاميرات المراقبة داخل الفندق، تمهيدًا لاتخاذ القرار القانوني المناسب وفقًا لما تسفر عنه التحقيقات.
