قسّم الكاتب الدكتور محمد الخازم كُتّاب الرأي إلى كاتب عام، وكاتب صاحب مشروع، ووصف صاحب المشروع بالذي يركّز على مهنة أو مجال معين ويقدم رؤيته وفلسفته، مشيراً إلى بروز الكُتّاب ذوي المشاريع مع دخول الأكاديميين عالم كتابة الرأي.
وأكد في لقاء حواري، في مقهى الشريك الأدبي (ريشة ولون) في الرياض، أن الكاتب العام يتفادى الكتابة عن مجاله لينجو من المضايقات التي ربما تحصل له في عمله بسبب كتابة ناقدة، عكس صاحب المشروع الذي يكتب غالباً عن مجال تخصصه، وعمله، من واقع خبرته.
ولفت الخازم إلى أن كاتب الرأي يهتم بالفكرة، وتحكمه قوانين النشر المتمثلة في عامل الوقت (السرعة)، والمساحة المخصصة للمقال، والحذر من الرقيب، ومراعاة القوانين وردات الفعل، موضحاً أن المقالات الموضوعية لأصحاب المشاريع الكتابية تحمل الكثير من الفكر داخلها، سواء العام أو العضوي، إلا أنه لا يتم تمحيصها واستخراج الجوانب الفكرية فيها وتحليلها بسبب التصنيفات المسبقة لكتاب الرأي ومحتوى كتاباتهم، مشيراً إلى التفاوت بين الكاتب الذي دراسته علمية، والآخر الذي تخصصه أدبي، مؤكداً انعكاس التخصص على أسلوب الكتابة والسرد، مضيفاً أن من يمتلك لغة ثانية يختلف عمن لا يجيد إلا لغة واحدة.
وطالب الخازم بالاهتمام بدراسة كتابات الرأي، وتحليلها على مدى حقب زمنية، لفهم تطورات المجتمع، وتحولاته السياسية و الاجتماعية والتنموية والاقتصادية.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Khazem divided opinion writers into general writers and project-based writers, describing project-based writers as those who focus on a specific profession or field and present their vision and philosophy, noting the emergence of writers with projects as academics entered the world of opinion writing.
In a dialogue meeting at the literary partner café (Risha wa Lawn) in Riyadh, he confirmed that general writers avoid writing about their field to escape potential harassment at work due to critical writing, unlike project-based writers who often write about their area of expertise and work, based on their experience.
Al-Khazem pointed out that opinion writers focus on the idea, governed by publishing laws represented in the factor of time (speed), the space allocated for the article, caution regarding censorship, and consideration of laws and reactions. He explained that objective articles by project-based writers contain a lot of thought within them, whether general or organic, but they are not scrutinized or analyzed for their intellectual aspects due to the preconceived classifications of opinion writers and the content of their writings. He noted the disparity between a writer whose study is scientific and another whose specialization is literary, emphasizing that specialization reflects on writing style and narration, adding that those who possess a second language differ from those who only master one language.
Al-Khazem called for attention to the study of opinion writings and their analysis over periods of time to understand the developments in society and its political, social, developmental, and economic transformations.
