يشهد موسم صيف 2026، واحدة من أبرز المنافسات السينمائية، مع دخول الفنان المصري أحمد العوضي والفنانة ياسمين عبدالعزيز سباق شباك التذاكر بفيلمين جديدين، في أول مواجهة مباشرة بينهما داخل دور العرض، وسط ترقب لمعرفة أي العملين سينجح في تحقيق الإيرادات الأعلى.
ويفتتح العوضي المنافسة بفيلم «شمشون ودليلة»، المقرر عرضه في 8 يوليو، بينما تعود ياسمين عبدالعزيز إلى السينما بعد غياب من خلال فيلم «خلي بالك من نفسك»، الذي ينطلق في 22 يوليو، لتشتعل المنافسة خلال ذروة الموسم الصيفي.
وقال الناقد الفني عماد يسري، في تصريح لـ«عكاظ»، إن العوضي يمتلك أفضلية نسبية في البداية بحكم طرح فيلمه أولاً، ما يمنحه فرصة لاستقطاب الجمهور وتحقيق إيرادات مبكرة قبل وصول الفيلم المنافس، مشيراً إلى أن شعبيته، إلى جانب الحضور الجماهيري لمي عمر، قد تنعكس إيجاباً على الإقبال.
وأكد يسري، أن النجاح التجاري لا يرتبط بأسماء النجوم فقط، بل يعتمد في المقام الأول على جودة السيناريو وقدرته على جذب المشاهد والمحافظة على استمرار الإقبال، لافتاً إلى أن تاريخ السينما يضم أعمالاً انطلقت بقوة ثم تراجعت بسبب ضعف النص.
The summer season of 2026 witnesses one of the most prominent cinematic competitions, with Egyptian artist Ahmed El Awady and actress Yasmin Abdel Aziz entering the box office race with two new films, marking their first direct confrontation in theaters, amid anticipation to see which of the two films will succeed in achieving the highest revenues.
El Awady opens the competition with the film "Samson and Delilah," set to be released on July 8, while Yasmin Abdel Aziz returns to cinema after a hiatus with the film "Take Care of Yourself," which launches on July 22, igniting the competition during the peak of the summer season.
Art critic Emad Yousry stated in a comment to "Okaz" that El Awady has a relative advantage at the start due to his film being released first, giving him the chance to attract audiences and achieve early revenues before the competing film arrives. He pointed out that his popularity, along with the audience presence of Mai Omar, could positively reflect on the turnout.
Yousry confirmed that commercial success is not solely tied to the names of the stars but primarily depends on the quality of the screenplay and its ability to attract viewers and maintain ongoing interest, noting that the history of cinema includes works that launched strongly but then declined due to weak scripts.
