اشتهر الفنان الراحل جمال عساف بمواقفه المؤيدة لنظام بشار الأسد خلال السنوات الماضية وفقاً للتلفزيون السوري، وعُرف بأغانٍ هاجمت معارضيه، وبرز اسمه في أعمال حملت عناوين أثارت جدلاً واسعاً.
دعوات تحريضية
وأثار عساف موجة انتقادات بسبب تصريحات نشرها عبر حساباته الشخصية، تضمنت دعوات تصعيدية وتحريضية، من بينها مطالبات باستخدام البراميل المتفجرة ضد مدينة إدلب شمال غربي سورية، وظهر في مناسبات عدة متباهياً بمشاركته في المعارك إلى جانب قوات النظام السابق.
اعتقال سابق
وأعلنت قوات الأمن السورية اعتقال جمال عساف في مدينة حلب أواخر ديسمبر 2024، بعد تقارير تحدثت عن تخفيه وتنقله بين أماكن مختلفة لتجنب التوقيف، وهو الحدث الذي لاقى أصداء واسعة عبر منصات التواصل الاجتماعي حينها.
وأظهرت تسجيلات متداولة ظهور عساف مجدداً في يناير 2026 إثر إطلاق سراحه، بعدما قدم اعتذاراً للسوريين، وانتقل لاحقاً إلى أحياء الأشرفية والشيخ مقصود، قبل أن يُقتل في الاشتباك الأخير خلال محاولة توقيفه مرة أخرى.

Incitement Calls
Asaf sparked a wave of criticism due to statements he published through his personal accounts, which included escalatory and inciting calls, including demands to use barrel bombs against the city of Idlib in northwestern Syria. He appeared on several occasions boasting about his participation in battles alongside the former regime forces.
Previous Arrest
The Syrian security forces announced the arrest of Jamal Asaf in the city of Aleppo in late December 2024, following reports that he was hiding and moving between different locations to avoid arrest, an event that received widespread attention on social media at the time.
Recorded footage showed Asaf reappearing in January 2026 after his release, during which he apologized to the Syrians, and later moved to the neighborhoods of Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud, before being killed in the last clash during another attempt to arrest him.
