أكدت منى زكي أن أبرز ما شجعها على خوض بطولة فيلم «الست» كان تعاونها مع المخرج مروان حامد، إلى جانب قوة السيناريو، مؤكدة أنه لولا توجيهاته لما استطاعت الدخول إلى الشخصية وتجسيد شخصية أم كلثوم بالشكل المطلوب.
الصعوبات والتحديات
أوضحت منى زكي في تصريح لـ«عكاظ» أنها واجهت صعوبات كبيرة في تجسيد شخصية أم كلثوم؛ بسبب عمق سيناريو أحمد مراد واعتماده على مشاعر داخلية دقيقة غير ظاهرة بوضوح، مؤكدة أن هذا العمل هو الأصعب في مسيرتها، مضيفة أن دعم ومساعدة المخرج مروان حامد خلال مراحل التحضير والتصوير كان حاسماً لإنجاح الأداء.

وأضافت منى زكي أن فريق العمل حرص على إبراز الجانب الإنساني في حياة أم كلثوم، وكشف ما تخفيه خلف المسرح من مشاعر ضعف وألم وانكسار لتظهر في كامل قوتها.

Reasons for Agreeing to Portray Umm Kulthum
Mona Zaki confirmed that the main factor encouraging her to take on the lead role in the film "The Lady" was her collaboration with director Marwan Hamed, in addition to the strength of the screenplay, asserting that without his guidance, she would not have been able to delve into the character and portray Umm Kulthum as required.
Difficulties and Challenges
Mona Zaki explained in a statement to "Okaz" that she faced significant challenges in embodying the character of Umm Kulthum due to the depth of Ahmed Mourad's screenplay, which relied on subtle internal emotions that were not clearly visible. She affirmed that this work is the most difficult in her career, adding that the support and assistance of director Marwan Hamed during the preparation and filming stages were crucial to the success of her performance.
Highlighting the Human Side
Mona Zaki added that the team was keen to highlight the human aspect of Umm Kulthum's life, revealing what she concealed behind the scenes in terms of feelings of weakness, pain, and heartbreak, allowing her to appear in her full strength.
