نفت الفنانة المصرية ليلى علوي، تفكيرها في اعتزال الفن، مؤكدة لـ «عكاظ» بأن الفن يمثل العشق الأكبر في حياتها، وأن فترات التوقف التي يمر بها أي فنان لا تعني الابتعاد، بل هي فرصة لإعادة شحن الطاقة ومواصلة العطاء.
وقالت «الشغف هو السر الحقيقي لاستمراري في الفن، كونه يمنحني الدافع المستمر للتجديد والإبداع»، مشيرة إلى أنها ما زالت تحمل في داخلها الكثير من الأحلام والشخصيات التي تتمنى تقديمها ولم تتحقق بعد.
كما تطرقت إلى تجربتها في رئاسة لجنة تحكيم الأفلام الروائية الطويلة خلال الدورة الماضية من مهرجان الجونة السينمائي، مؤكدة أن التحدي الأكبر في التجربة لم يكن في عدد الأفلام المشاركة، بل في اختلاف ثقافات وجنسيات أعضاء اللجنة، وهو ما تطلب جهدًا كبيرًا وتفهماً متبادلًا للوصول إلى رؤية فنية موحدة.
وأعربت ليلى علوي عن إعجابها بفكرة توثيق مسيرة الفنانين، معتبرة أنها خطوة مهمة وملهمة، مضيفة أنها تتمنى تنفيذ مشروع مشابه يوثق مسيرتها الفنية في المستقبل.
وعلى الجانب الفني، تشارك ليلى علوي في فيلم جديد يحمل اسم «ابن مين فيهم»، والذي يجمعها مع الفنان بيومي فؤاد وعدد من نجوم الفن، والعمل من تأليف لؤي السيد وإخراج هشام فتحي.
The Egyptian artist Laila Elwi denied any thoughts of retiring from art, confirming to "Okaz" that art represents the greatest passion in her life, and that the periods of pause that any artist goes through do not mean distancing oneself, but rather are an opportunity to recharge energy and continue giving.
She said, "Passion is the true secret to my continuity in art, as it provides me with the constant motivation for renewal and creativity," pointing out that she still carries within her many dreams and characters that she wishes to present and have not yet been realized.
She also touched upon her experience as the head of the jury for feature films during the last edition of the El Gouna Film Festival, emphasizing that the biggest challenge in the experience was not the number of participating films, but rather the diversity of cultures and nationalities of the jury members, which required significant effort and mutual understanding to reach a unified artistic vision.
Laila Elwi expressed her admiration for the idea of documenting artists' journeys, considering it an important and inspiring step, adding that she hopes to implement a similar project that documents her artistic journey in the future.
On the artistic side, Laila Elwi is participating in a new film titled "Ibn Meen Feehom," which brings her together with artist Bayoumi Fouad and several other stars of art. The work is written by Louay El-Sayed and directed by Hisham Fathy.
