حققت النجمة الأمريكية تايلور سويفت، إنجازاً تاريخياً جديداً في مسيرتها الفنية، بعد أن سجل ألبومها الأخير «The Life of a Showgirl»، انطلاقة هي الأكبر في تاريخ سوق الموسيقى الأمريكية، متجاوزاً حاجز أربعة ملايين وحدة مباعة في أسبوعه الأول فقط؛ وفق بيانات تصنيف Billboard الرسمي. ويعد هذا الرقم الأعلى منذ بدء تتبع المبيعات الرقمية في عام 1991، متفوقاً على جميع الأرقام السابقة التي حققها فنانون عالميون، من بينهم البريطانية أديل بألبومها الشهير «25».
ووفق التقرير، بلغت مبيعات الألبوم 3.48 مليون نسخة مادية، إضافة إلى أكثر من 520 ألف وحدة عبر الاستماع الرقمي، لتصبح سويفت الفنانة الوحيدة التي تحقق هذا الإنجاز منذ ثلاثة عقود. كما تصدّرت أغنيتها الرئيسية «The Fate of Ophelia» المركز الأول في قائمة Billboard Hot 100، بينما استحوذ الألبوم على المراتب الـ12 الأولى من القائمة ذاتها، في سابقة غير مسبوقة بتاريخ الصناعة الموسيقية الأمريكية.
وأصدرت سويفت الألبوم في 38 إصداراً مختلفاً من الأقراص والفاينيل والإصدارات الرقمية الخاصة، ما ساهم في تعزيز المبيعات واستقطاب شريحة واسعة من الجمهور. وبهذا الإنجاز، رفعت رصيدها إلى 15 ألبوماً متصدراً لقائمة Billboard 200، لتتفوق على معظم الفنانين المنفردين، ولا تسبقها سوى فرقة البيتلز التي تمتلك 19 ألبوماً في القمة.
