أكد المؤلف المصري أيمن وتار، أن عنوان مسلسل «كتالوج» جاء من فكرة أن الحياة لا تسير وفق كتالوج، ولا توجد وصفة جاهزة للتعامل مع فقدان أو تربية أو ألم، معرباً عن سعادته بتفاعل الجمهور مع العمل على نطاق واسع.
وقال أيمن وتار في تصريح خاص لـ صحيفة «عكاظ»: إن الاستعدادات لفكرة العمل استغرقت فترة طويلة للوقوف على الجوانب المحورية للمسلسل، موضحاً أن العمل مر بمراحل نضج طويلة حتى شعر الكاتب بالشجاعة الكافية لكتابته.
وأشار أيمن وتار إلى أن فكرة المسلسل تسليط الضوء على أهمية تربية الأبناء جاءت نتيجة تجربة شخصية لحزن الأب بعد وفاة الأم والتأمل في أدوار الآباء في مجتمعاتنا، ما دفعني لطرح هذه الزاوية من جانب الأبوة بشكل صادق.
وعن كواليس التعاون مع أبطال العمل محمد فراج وريهام عبدالغفور، أضاف مؤلف العمل أن الثنائي أضافا لمسات خاصة على النص ما جعلهما يتفاعلان مع فكرة وقصة العمل بشكل شخصي وإنساني، لافتًا أن الكواليس كانت ممتعة والجميع كان يفعل ما في وسعه من أجل نجاح العمل.

The Egyptian author Ayman Watar confirmed that the title of the series "Catalog" came from the idea that life does not follow a catalog, and there is no ready-made recipe for dealing with loss, upbringing, or pain, expressing his happiness with the audience's wide interaction with the work.
Ayman Watar stated in a special interview with the newspaper "Okaz": The preparations for the idea of the work took a long time to focus on the pivotal aspects of the series, explaining that the work went through long maturation stages until the writer felt brave enough to write it.
Ayman Watar pointed out that the idea of the series highlighting the importance of raising children came as a result of a personal experience of a father's sorrow after the mother's death and reflecting on the roles of fathers in our societies, which prompted me to present this angle of fatherhood in an honest way.
Regarding the behind-the-scenes collaboration with the stars of the work, Mohamed Farag and Riham Abdel Ghafour, the author added that the duo added special touches to the script, making them interact with the idea and story of the work in a personal and human way, noting that the behind-the-scenes experience was enjoyable and everyone was doing their best for the success of the work.
