أثار النجم الأمريكي الحائز على جائزة الأوسكار، «دينزل واشنطن» صدمة بين محبيه بعد مشادة حادة مع أحد المصورين على السجادة الحمراء خلال العرض الأول لفيلمه الجديد «Highest 2 Lowest» في مهرجان كان السينمائي الـ78.
ووفقاً لمقطع فيديو انتشر على نطاق واسع عبر منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، بدا واشنطن (70 عاماً) غاضباً وهو يوجه أصابعه نحو المصور ويصرخ «توقف!» بعد أن حاول الأخير لمسه مرتين لجذب انتباهه أثناء حديثه مع المخرج سبايك لي والممثل آيساب روكي.
وأظهرت اللقطات، التي التقطتها عدسات الصحافة، واشنطن وهو يبتعد عن المصور قبل أن يعود ليواجهه مجدداً عندما حاول المصور لمسه مرة أخرى، قائلاً بحسب خبير قراءة الشفاه جيريمي فريمان في تصريح لصحيفة «ديلي ميل»، «توقف، توقف، لا تضع يديك عليّ مرة أخرى!»، بينما بدا المصور يبتسم ويحاول تهدئة الموقف دون جدوى، مما أدى إلى انسحاب واشنطن من المؤتمر الصحفي المقرر للفيلم في اليوم التالي.
ورغم هذا التوتر، تحولت الأمسية إلى لحظة احتفالية عندما فاجأ مهرجان كان واشنطن بمنحه جائزة السعفة الذهبية الفخرية، التي قدمها له المخرج سبايك لي ومدير المهرجان تييري فريمو، وخلال قبوله الجائزة، أعرب واشنطن عن تأثره قائلاً: «هذا مفاجئ تماماً بالنسبة لي، أنا عاطفي قليلاً. إنه لشرف عظيم أن أتعاون مجدداً مع أخي من أم أخرى، سبايك، وأن أكون هنا في كان».

According to a widely circulated video on social media platforms, Washington (70 years old) appeared angry as he pointed his fingers at the photographer and shouted, "Stop!" after the latter attempted to touch him twice to get his attention while he was speaking with director Spike Lee and actor A$AP Rocky.
The footage, captured by press cameras, showed Washington stepping away from the photographer before returning to confront him again when the photographer tried to touch him once more, saying, according to lip-reading expert Jeremy Freeman in a statement to the "Daily Mail," "Stop, stop, don't put your hands on me again!" while the photographer appeared to smile and tried to calm the situation in vain, leading to Washington's withdrawal from the scheduled press conference for the film the following day.
Despite this tension, the evening turned into a celebratory moment when the Cannes Festival surprised Washington by awarding him the honorary Palme d'Or, presented to him by director Spike Lee and festival director Thierry Frémaux. While accepting the award, Washington expressed his emotion, saying, "This is completely surprising to me, I'm a little emotional.
