طالب أهالي حي الرحيب الشرقي بمحافظة ظهران الجنوب بمنطقة عسير، الجهات المختصة بالتدخل العاجل لمعالجة أوضاع الشوارع والتقاطعات المحيطة بمنازلهم، من خلال إنشاء مطبات اصطناعية للحد من السرعات العالية التي يمارسها بعض قائدي المركبات، بما يسهم في حماية السكان وضمان عبور آمن للطريق.
وأوضح الأهالي، في حديثهم لـ«عكاظ»، منهم عبدالله الوادعي وحسين القحطاني وناصر الشهري، أن الحي يضم مجمع مدارس سعد بن أبي وقاص (ثانوي ومتوسط)، الذي يضم أكثر من 500 طالب، إضافة إلى وجود مسجد يرتاده عدد كبير من المصلين لوقوعه في وسط الحي. كما أن الشوارع المحيطة بالمدرسة واسعة، مما يشجع بعض الطلاب والسائقين على القيادة بسرعة أثناء الحضور والانصراف.
وأكدوا، أن غياب المطبات الاصطناعية بالقرب من المدرسة يشكل خطراً كبيراً على المارة، خصوصاً مع تكرار مرور مركبات تسير بسرعات عالية قد تتسبب في حوادث مأساوية.
وطالبوا بسرعة إيجاد حل ووضع مطبات اصطناعية لتعزيز السلامة المرورية وحماية سكان الحي ومستخدمي الطريق، موضحين أن مجمع سعد بن أبي وقاص يعد أكبر مجمع تعليمي في المحافظة ويستحق الاهتمام ذاته.
The residents of the Eastern Al-Ruhayb neighborhood in the Dhahran Al-Janub governorate in the Asir region have called on the relevant authorities to intervene urgently to address the conditions of the streets and intersections surrounding their homes by creating speed bumps to reduce the high speeds practiced by some vehicle drivers, which contributes to protecting residents and ensuring safe road crossings.
The residents, in their conversation with "Okaz," including Abdullah Al-Wad'i, Hussein Al-Qahtani, and Nasser Al-Shahri, explained that the neighborhood includes the Saad bin Abi Waqqas school complex (secondary and intermediate), which accommodates more than 500 students, in addition to a mosque frequented by a large number of worshippers due to its central location in the neighborhood. The streets surrounding the school are wide, which encourages some students and drivers to speed during arrival and departure.
They confirmed that the absence of speed bumps near the school poses a significant danger to pedestrians, especially with the repeated passage of vehicles traveling at high speeds that could lead to tragic accidents.
They called for a swift solution and the installation of speed bumps to enhance traffic safety and protect the residents of the neighborhood and road users, noting that the Saad bin Abi Waqqas complex is the largest educational complex in the governorate and deserves the same attention.
