When you contemplate the journey of nations and their history, you find that stances are the honest mirror that reflects the qualities of leadership and reveals the depth of the human connections that bind the shepherd to the flock, and the land to its children. In the record of this blessed nation, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, noble stances are repeated, and exceptional initiatives follow as a steadfast approach; thus, the most sincere and deeply rooted phrase in the hearts of all who follow the journey of this nation has become: "This is not strange for this nation and its wise leadership; its generosity extends in both prosperity and hardship."
The directive of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, based on what was raised to him by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, to take a number of supportive measures for citizens, coinciding with what the world is witnessing in rising energy and commodity prices, and disruptions in supply chains, embodies the feeling of leadership, the generosity of a state, and a continuous giving in both prosperity and hardship.
Wise leadership does not only manage the affairs of the present but also establishes a national culture characterized by solidarity and responsibility; when giving transforms into a sustainable policy and a cherished approach, it becomes an identity rather than just a reaction. Each time the images of this generosity are renewed, the conviction deepens that no matter how the days differ, and regardless of the changes in circumstances between ease and hardship, this nation will remain an oasis of giving, guarded by the wisdom of a leadership that has dedicated itself to serving humanity and building a future that accommodates everyone with its goodness and prosperity.
And you, dear reader, when you wander these days in the city of Riyadh, can see the buildings, towers, streets, and new intersections, as well as the projects where work and development do not cease, some of which are governmental and others private, backed by Saudi and non-Saudi investors.
When you listen to the conversations around you, whether in work meetings, scientific lectures, family gatherings, while strolling in markets, or in the councils of businessmen and real estate development specialists, or among young people in cafes, or even in the conversations of passersby in the streets, you will find that many of them look to the future with passion and confidence; some buy to profit, others purchase land to build a residence or an investment property, while another enjoys a cup of coffee with friends, and thus the details of life proceed with vitality and reassurance.
Everyone lives their present and looks forward to their future, confident in God, and then in the ability of this nation, its wise leadership, and its loyal people to overcome this crisis as if it never existed, in a scene summed up by a phrase echoed by the voice of confidence and reassurance: "Keep your eyes on the road, and the sky is upon us."
