I think a lot about that moment when a person suddenly stops to ask themselves: How has all this time passed? And how have I been preoccupied with everything except myself?
We live our lives as if we are racing against something we cannot see, running after successive achievements, and postponing life until later... until we finish this project, or get that promotion, or reach a stage we think is "stability." But what we fail to notice is that life does not wait for us there; it has been happening here, every day that has passed without enough awareness.
I contemplated the concept of the wheel of life, not just as a training tool, but as an honest mirror. A mirror that reveals where we truly stand, not where we think we stand. Are we balanced? Or are we living in a silent imbalance that grows over time without us feeling it? And how many times have we given work more than it deserves? Not always out of love for it, but because we have become accustomed to measuring our worth by what we achieve in it. And how many times have we postponed a family gathering, or a moment of tranquility, or even worship, under the pretext of "being busy"?
Strangely, we do not feel the loss at the time. But it accumulates until it becomes a large void at some point. What worries me is not the fatigue, but the habituation. That we get used to an unbalanced life and think it is normal. That we drown in routine until we lose the ability to question: Is this really me? Is this the life I want?
Balance does not mean dividing our time mathematically, but living with awareness. Paying attention to what we neglect before it disappears from our lives. Asking ourselves honestly: Where am I in my relationship with my Lord? Where am I with my family? With my health? With the self that is always postponed? Days pass quietly, but they do not return. And what we postpone today may not have a place tomorrow.
In a moment of honesty; imagine yourself years later, having completed your professional journey. No one will ask you about your email, or your reports, or your long working hours. Only the real questions will remain: What have you kept in your heart? And what have you left in the hearts of others?
Do not make work your whole life. For life is bigger, deeper, and more deserving of being lived in balance. And do not let the days become similar until they steal you away without you noticing. Stop sometimes, reflect, and ask yourself: Where am I going? And does this path really resemble me?
