Recently, some exchanges have spread on social media among Arab youth criticizing the negative behaviors of certain individuals from nationalities other than their own, and then generalizing these behaviors to all people of that country. I believe it is unfair to generalize in such a disgraceful manner.
This despicable behavior sows hatred and animosity among the members of a single nation, Arabs and non-Arabs alike. We are at a stage that requires unity, not division through tribalism for a particular country or group. Therefore, this phenomenon needs research centers to prepare studies and research in an effort to mitigate it.
This phenomenon, which specialists classify as a form of "racism," is not an individual problem but a global challenge that requires joint efforts to eliminate it and protect the rights of others through education, awareness, the reinforcement of strict laws, support for dialogue and cultural understanding, and encouragement of communication among different social groups. All of this helps to dispel misconceptions and build a more inclusive society.
The media also has an important role to play; it should be a positive tool for spreading values of equality and justice, leading to more just and respectful societies regardless of their backgrounds.
Finally, I say to my dear youth across the Arab world: Your love for the country you were born in and your belonging to it is commendable, but this does not mean directing insults at other nationalities entirely due to negative behaviors from some of their individuals, especially since human nature encompasses both error and correctness.
