Silence has never been a sign of wisdom, nor has quietude been a mark of dignity. How many silent ones have we thought to be abstaining from conflict, rising above debate, only to find that they harbor in their hearts a bitterness that mountains cannot bear? And so it is with even the silent among them; their malice has become apparent, especially those who preferred to take refuge behind the wall of silence, watching from afar, and smiling a cold smile, as if the matter does not concern them. Yet the truth slaps us: they are not neutral; rather, they are at the heart of the battle.
How astonishing! They believed that silence was a shield and that invisibility was salvation, forgetting that when hearts are filled with malice, tongues overflow, and even if they do not speak, their eyes betray them, and their positions expose them.
Even the silent among them were not neutral; rather, their silence was a waiting for the moment to pounce. Their malice has shown today, and their venom has been revealed, leading us to discover that we were not living among people different from us, but rather in the midst of dens full of snakes, changing colors with the shifting situations, smiling while hiding their fangs.
They have surrounded us from every side, spreading their poisons in our gatherings, and exhaling their hatred in our streets, to the point that one of us does not know from where the sting will come.
They are the snakes that wear the guise of humans, speaking our language, feeding on our bounty, and then wrapping around our necks when the opportunity arises.
Yes, we are the besieged today, by their suspicious silence, their deep-seated malice, and their yellow smiles that hide a thousand daggers behind them.
But... we need not worry about their siege, for even if the snakes are many, there will come a day when they are exposed, and their heads are severed.
What matters is that they have been revealed.
Their silence has been exposed, their malice uncovered, and we have finally realized that the enemy was not far away, but rather among us, living with us, and eating at our tables.
The mask has fallen, and the fangs have shown; those who thought them silent out of wisdom have discovered that they are silent out of hatred, waiting for the moment of our downfall to dance upon our wounds.
Their exposure has been a blessing; how much we needed this pivotal moment, the moment of the masks falling, to distinguish the friend from the climber, the advisor from the envious, and the honorable from the pretender to honor.
And history does not spare the snakes, no matter how long their silence lasts.
Flash:
Even if the snakes soften their touch
when turning in their broken fangs.
