Israel wants to overthrow the regime in Iran.
Trump wants to prevent Iran from possessing nuclear weapons.
And the world is waiting for a war or an agreement that emerges from lengthy negotiations.
Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, and Pakistan confirmed in a meeting in Istanbul on Friday that diplomacy is the way to end the conflict with Iran and the Hormuz crisis.
The Iranian regime will not fall through airstrikes; its overthrow requires a ground invasion or a land war, and the Americans will not be willing to send their children into a ground war where there is no certainty of their safety from death or injury. The Americans and Israelis will not agree to a ground attack... this will not happen.
Okay, let's assume the regime is overthrown, whether through sanctions, economic measures, airstrikes, or ground assaults. What will happen the next day? Will Iran fragment into states, starting from the east and west (the Kurds, Baluchis, Iranian Arabs, etc.)? If that happens, how long will it take for Iran to stabilize with its new divisions, and what will happen to the enriched nuclear material in Iran? Who will possess it from the upcoming political factions, or which state will the enriched uranium be transferred to?
These scenarios will not happen, and the key point is that the geographical environment (specifically the Gulf states) is rejecting everything that America has caused through war. This rejection was not taken into account by America, despite the Gulf states being key allies of the U.S. Nevertheless, their opinion on the war was overlooked, or this rejection was ignored.
Now, America wants to exit this war as a victorious state, and Israel wants this war to continue for a considerable time.
If this war turns into a deep dilemma for the Gulf states, as they are within the geographical area constrained by a war that will not end—a war in which they have no stake—how can geography rid itself of this dilemma?
Dozens of scenarios have been proposed by analysts, and each scenario ends up harming the countries in the region, while the countries of the world remain in the audience seats watching the event. If there is any support, it is hidden and unannounced. With the absence of international law—from the outset—what is happening becomes the law, and it is the law of the "fishing net," where every gap allows a huge shark to escape from that net.
And everything said (by analysts) is merely a statement that is contradicted by another statement... and every negotiation taking place is just talk upon talk.
The possible solution to this dilemma is for a significant event to occur, away from the machinery of war, that changes or unravels the knot that has tied our region. Otherwise, the continued stubbornness of the warring factions will prolong the problem for years.
