The work and extremist thought that calls for the killing of others, regardless of their religion or ethnicity, is ugly and unacceptable. This is how divine religions are, especially in our contemporary lives, where the state, in its national concept, is supposed to stand at an equal distance from all religions within it. The Arab East has embraced religious minorities, including Christians and Jews, for thousands of years, and they have lived there with acceptance and tolerance, even during political and religious crises where humans have been victims regardless of their religion or ethnicity. In Europe, not long ago, minorities suffered and lived under persecution from some fascist states. In our Arab world, we find that some Arab Jews migrated to Palestine after terrorist acts targeted their businesses, whether carried out by Jewish political entities or by some republican regimes amidst politically turbulent conditions during the birth of the State of Israel. It is certain that Arabs and Muslims in the Middle East have known religious coexistence for hundreds of years. The current issue arises from Islamist organizations that believe in terrorism as a doctrine and practical methodology, with the Muslim Brotherhood at the forefront of these organizations, along with its offshoots such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda. Most countries and cities in the world, along with their places of worship, including mosques, churches, and temples, have been affected. We remember how ISIS invaded and kidnapped Yazidi women in Iraq, which is a glaring example of exploiting religion and promoting this ideology in our Arab societies.
Saudi Arabia has suffered and been targeted by terrorist acts aimed at Sunni and Shia mosques, resulting in the deaths of dozens. The state has worked on an intellectual strategy before a security one, and it has succeeded in this, while many Arab countries are working to modernize their societies and establish the rule of law and citizenship away from religions and sects. Unfortunately, those with extremist ideas infiltrate through this, using advanced digital means.
Two days ago, in a peaceful village in the Karak governorate in our brotherly Jordan, our fellow humans, Christians, were subjected to a terrorist attack by masked individuals while they were mourning their deceased in their church, chanting religious slogans that express their extremist terrorist ideology, far removed from any religion they claim to believe in. Jordan, as a society, like most Arab societies, experiences fusion and tolerance among its social and religious components. However, these terrorists thrive on chaos and the dismantling of states to achieve their evil goals.
These terrorist groups that target the established social peace in our Arab world are not beyond being indirectly employed by international and regional powers to create a state of chaos in the region. Everyone knows now that the Middle East is going through crises that threaten its existence. The war between Israel and America against Iran has been ongoing for months, and now the drums of war are beating again, with the Palestinian people facing genocide at the hands of the occupying state, along with crises and wars in some Arab countries, and the terrorism of the Houthis against their own people, killing thousands of them and launching missiles at civilian and vital sites in the Kingdom. Dozens have been martyred due to these terrorist acts, which are no different from those committed against the church in Jordan or the actions of ISIS and Al-Qaeda. The Houthis represent the terrorism of a militia that has seized a people and a state. May mercy be upon the martyrs of the Karak church in the peaceful village of "Hamoud," and condolences to the brotherly Jordanian people, as expressed by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
