The host of the satellite channel smiled with an expression that conveyed its meaning and significance after broadcasting a clip of President Donald Trump harshly criticizing the Nobel Peace Prize committee, which decided to award the South African judge "Navi Pillay." The committee based its decision on the justifications it deemed sufficient for the judge to receive the award, as it represented "the culmination of a career that began with defending victims of apartheid in her country, leading to her presidency of the UN inquiry committee that concluded in 2025 that Israel committed genocide in Gaza, placing the responsibility for justice for the Palestinians before the international community." The Nobel committee stated that Navi Pillay "held leaders of countries accountable, brought hope to victims of violence and conflict, and demonstrated a consistent moral compass throughout her long career." It is well-known that Judge Pillay has worked in several international courts, including the International Criminal Court.
The United States is not a member of the International Criminal Court and strongly opposes its work and jurisdiction concerning American citizens and those from allied countries. What more when it comes to Israel and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, for whom the court issued an arrest warrant, prompting President Trump to impose economic sanctions and travel restrictions on 13 court officials, including nine judges. However, it seems that the court provoked Trump to a degree beyond his tolerance when it awarded the Nobel Peace Prize to the judge who works there and has taken on the Gaza file this year, causing an eruption of his anger towards the Nobel committee, the court, and the judge, pouring out what his dictionary of rage allowed him.
Among the things President Trump said is that the Nobel Peace Prize committee is corrupt and unprofessional when it does not appreciate the stopping of eight wars and awards the prize to a judge in a court that America does not recognize. He added that America deserves eight Nobel Peace Prizes, referring to himself, as the prize is awarded to individuals, not countries. President Trump has the right to aspire to a Nobel Peace Prize among his limitless ambitions, but on the other hand, we are looking for the eight wars he claims to have stopped while we see the world ablaze with wars.
