This space I dedicated today to the noble Ahli fan, Atef Mohammed Al-Qahtani, to write his pain with his pen...!!
The Ahli club was never just a club competing for a championship; it was a knight who, when riding the saddle of glory, found the calculations of others constricted, and when it rose, the tables that were used to distribute gains away from the field became confused.
Therefore, it was not required for Ahli to lose a match, but rather to lose its ability to return.
They stripped it of its knights and emptied its stable of its stars, leaving it to fight with a broken sword, and then they stood wondering with feigned innocence why the knight fell..?
What a coincidence
Whenever a competitor needed a star, the door to Ahli was opened.
And whenever Ahli needed support, the doors were closed under the pretext of regulations, budgets, and fairness.
Fairness was always present, but for some unknown reason, it could not find the address of Ahli.
They uprooted the pillars of the team one by one and left its fans to face anxiety alone, while other clubs received gifts wrapped in ribbons of support and exceptions.
They did not stop at weakening Ahli; they also tried to convince its fans that what happened was natural and that the fall of a club with such history was merely a transient mismanagement.
But the question that remained unanswered..
Who benefited from weakening Ahli?
And where did its stars go?
And who grew stronger as the knight's strength diminished?
The answer does not require an investigation committee.. sometimes it is enough to look at the path that the spoils took after stripping the knight.
Ahli fell, and some celebrated as if a major championship had been achieved.
Their joy was not at the fall of a competitor but rather relief at the return of the balance they had created for themselves.
They thought the knight had ended, that the memory of the stands would cool, and that history could be erased by a decision, a season, or a campaign of justification.
But they forgot that Ahli does not live on anyone's approval, does not derive its status from a grant, and does not need a certificate from those who made their glories in offices more than they did on the grass.
Ahli has returned..
It returned from the path they wanted to be its grave and made it a platform for its revival.
It returned carried by fans who did not abandon it when everyone else did, then went out to Asia to remind them of a truth they tried for a long time to bury.
This club, when it receives a part of its right, becomes bigger than all their calculations,
and today, when Asian championships intersect with global participation calculations, we understand why Ahli's strong presence was bothersome to some.
For the knight does not just take a championship; he changes the seating arrangements and mixes the cards of the beneficiaries, and he demolishes the pre-written scenarios, which is why they stripped the knight.
They did not do this because he was weak, but because they knew how dangerous he was if he remained fully equipped.
They knew that whenever Ahli had stability, fairness, and support equal to others, it would leave them with nothing but to watch the championships from the back seats.
However, the problem with the real knight is that he may be stripped of his weapon, but he is never stripped of his identity.
He may fall from his horse, but he knows how to rise again.
