سيكون فيلم «هجرة» سفيراً للفن السينمائي السعودي في سباق جوائز الأوسكار في حفل دورته الـ98 الذي سيقام على مسرح دولبي في مدينة لوس أنجلوس في مارس 2026، حيث أعلنت هيئة الأفلام السعودية عن اختيار الفيلم لتمثيل المملكة رسمياً في الحدث السينمائي الأبرز على مستوى العالم !
تتمحور قصة الفيلم، الذي أخرجته المخرجة شهد أمين وشارك في بطولته عدد من المواهب السعودية الصاعدة إلى جانب بعض الأسماء البارزة، حول رحلة ثلاث نساء سعوديات من أجيال مختلفة إلى مكة المكرمة لأداء فريضة الحج. ويمضي الفيلم بالمشاهد في سياق درامي مثير، عندما تتحول الرحلة الإيمانية إلى مأساة باختفاء سارة قبل الوصول إلى مكة، لتبدأ الجدة والحفيدة رحلة بحث شاقة، تكشف أسراراً عائلية دفينة وتبرز الفجوة بين الأجيال النسائية في معالجة بصرية مؤثرة !
يعكس الفيلم تنوّع القصص المحلية وثراء الهوية الثقافية السعودية، كما يقدم معالجة فنية مميزة من زاوية إنسانية لقضايا اجتماعية جوهرية، تعبّر عن علاقة الأجيال المختلفة وتأثير الصراع بينها على الروابط الأسرية. وبرأيي، يُعد الفيلم أحد نماذج الحراك السينمائي الصاعد في المملكة بفضل دعم هيئة الأفلام من خلال مبادراتها وبرامجها، التي تناولتها في مقال بعنوان «صعود السينما السعودية» – («عكاظ»، 27 أكتوبر 2025) !
يُعد فيلم «هجرة» إحدى ثمار مبادرة «ضوء» لتحفيز صناعة الأفلام السعودية، وقد استغرق تصويره أكثر من ثلاث سنوات في تسع محافظات سعودية، شملت: بني مالك، الطائف، جدة، المدينة المنورة، تيماء، العلا، تبوك، وضباء، مما يوحي بتنوّع شيق للبيئات الثقافية في المملكة، واتساع الجغرافيا التي تتيح لصنّاع الأفلام السعوديين معيناً لا ينضب من الأفكار وعناصر الإبداع !
وليس «هجرة» السفير السعودي الأول في سباق جوائز الأوسكار، فقد سبق أن مثّل فيلم «سيدة البحر» المملكة عام 2020، وحصد أكثر من 15 جائزة دولية، ما يعكس الاحتفاء العالمي بحضور السينما السعودية ورصد التطورات المتسارعة لصناعتها في المملكة، بفضل جهود هيئة الأفلام للنهوض بقطاع السينما السعودية على أسس صلبة، وممكنات سخية، وأدوات مهنية احترافية، وعناصر مادية وبشرية ثرية !
باختصار.. صناعة السينما السعودية تنطلق اليوم نحو العالم، مدفوعةً بالرؤية الطموحة لتختصر المسافات !
The film "Migration" will be the ambassador of Saudi cinematic art in the race for the Oscars at the 98th awards ceremony, which will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles in March 2026. The Saudi Film Commission announced the film's selection to officially represent the Kingdom at the most prominent cinematic event globally!
The story of the film, directed by Shahd Amin and featuring several rising Saudi talents alongside some prominent names, revolves around the journey of three Saudi women from different generations to Mecca to perform the Hajj pilgrimage. The film takes viewers through an exciting dramatic context, as the spiritual journey turns into a tragedy with the disappearance of Sarah before reaching Mecca, prompting the grandmother and granddaughter to embark on a challenging search that uncovers buried family secrets and highlights the generational gap among women in a moving visual treatment!
The film reflects the diversity of local stories and the richness of Saudi cultural identity, while also providing a distinctive artistic treatment from a human perspective on essential social issues, expressing the relationship between different generations and the impact of the conflict between them on family ties. In my opinion, the film is one of the examples of the rising cinematic movement in the Kingdom, thanks to the support of the Film Commission through its initiatives and programs, which I discussed in an article titled "The Rise of Saudi Cinema" – ("Okaz," October 27, 2025)!
"Migration" is one of the fruits of the "Light" initiative to stimulate the Saudi film industry, and its filming took more than three years across nine Saudi provinces, including: Bani Malik, Taif, Jeddah, Medina, Tayma, Al-Ula, Tabuk, and Dhaba, suggesting an exciting diversity of cultural environments in the Kingdom and a vast geography that provides Saudi filmmakers with an inexhaustible source of ideas and creative elements!
"Migration" is not the first Saudi ambassador in the Oscar race; the film "The Sea of Women" previously represented the Kingdom in 2020 and won more than 15 international awards, reflecting the global celebration of the presence of Saudi cinema and the rapid developments in its industry in the Kingdom, thanks to the efforts of the Film Commission to elevate the Saudi cinema sector on solid foundations, generous capabilities, professional tools, and rich material and human elements!
In short, the Saudi film industry is now launching towards the world, driven by an ambitious vision to shorten distances!
