Since the launch of the new, massive, and comprehensive Saudi project, Vision 2030, it has been closely monitored and followed by observers and analysts from abroad, who write their impressions and observations about what is happening and what is planned to be achieved according to the program and targets of the vision. Some write with neutrality, objectivity, and professionalism, and this type of writing is beneficial and welcomed because it is not mixed with a negative personal bias towards the Kingdom. Even if it contains critical observations about certain aspects, this can help us and alert us to the necessity of clarifying what may be ambiguous to others, and perhaps make us reconsider some things. However, the problem lies in the proposals that address some aspects of the Saudi project in a way that questions its reasonableness and feasibility, aiming to instill a sense of negativity in the Saudi street, provoke misleading informational noise, and confuse the alignment, harmony, and participation of citizens and their trust in their national project. This is where the danger lies, and citizens must be aware of it.
Let us point out that the file of the vision project is not a sacred book that is beyond review. It is a comprehensive developmental project subject to continuous review according to what new developments dictate and changing circumstances impose, without affecting the essence and major goals. This is confirmed by all officials, foremost among them the originator of the idea, the architect of the project, and the supervisor of all its details, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. We are still fresh from his recent speech in the Shura Council, where he affirmed that the state does not hesitate to take what it deems appropriate for the interest of the nation and the citizen at any time. This means that it seeks what is best and aims for improvement as a result of careful monitoring, follow-up, and evaluation of everything that happens. Additionally, there are detailed and transparent periodic reports on everything happening in the vision projects, supported by facts and figures.
It should also be noted that the practice of self-criticism is available to us when it is based on an objective vision aimed at a lively discussion with officials. There is nothing preventing this, and there are no directives of any kind prohibiting discussion and expressing balanced and rational national opinions on any topic. We are in constant dialogue with all officials, whether in direct meetings or in the media, as there are no secrets or taboos, and every question or inquiry is answered.
In short: we know our conditions best, and we are most aware of how to correct our course if necessary. As for what comes to us from abroad regarding our affairs, it must be dealt with cautiously, alertly, and with an awareness of its premises and contexts.
