One of the manifestations and surprises of what recently happened during President Donald Trump's efforts to end the Russian-Ukrainian war is the involvement of First Lady Melania Trump and the wife of the Ukrainian president in the peace initiative. Melania sent a heartfelt message to President Putin, delivered to him during their meeting, urging him to protect innocent children, and stating that if he did, this bold idea would transcend all humanitarian boundaries. She addressed him, saying: "And you, Mr. Putin, are capable of implementing this vision with a stroke of a pen today. The time has come."
For her part, the wife of the Ukrainian president did not miss this opportunity to join in this wave of humanity, proving that she is also a woman of tender heart and gentle feelings. We do not know the content of the message in detail, but we expect it to be similar to Melania's message regarding the protection of children and humanity from the atrocities of war.
These truly beautiful feminine feelings that permeated the negotiations of one of the fiercest wars in modern history show that the presence of women can soften the stances of hard-hearted male leaders, especially when it is the First Lady; the only one who can, in her own way, persuade the top leader in ways that others cannot. Perhaps the involvement of these two women in the crisis could have an impact that is beyond imagination.
Caring for the children of the world without exception is a noble humanitarian duty for all people, but there is an important piece of information we would like to bring to the attention of First Lady Melania Trump. UNICEF has confirmed that more than 50,000 children have been killed or injured in Gaza since the beginning of the massacre until the end of May. After the onset of killing through starvation, there are thousands more who have died and thousands who will follow them, making it the largest crime in history targeting children in a barbaric manner without regard for any humanitarian considerations like those you speak of in your message to President Putin.
Benjamin Netanyahu is the most frequent visitor to the White House and does not need a mediator to convey a similar message to him with the same noble sentiment and great concern for the children of Gaza. You can deliver your message to him at dinner or as he is leaving, to tell him that children everywhere in the world are torn apart by wars and ravaged by famine. The children of Russia and Ukraine are no different from the children of Gaza, except that their suffering is the most horrific. You love children very much, as President Trump has confirmed, and we expect that the children of Gaza are not an exception.
Try, First Lady of America, and even if Netanyahu does not respond to you, at least the children of Gaza will remember one day that they had as much of your concern as the children of Russia and Ukraine.
