ولم تتوقف الفاجعة عند حد الطعنات النافذة التي استهدفت وجه المعتدى عليها أنيتا آفرز (80 عاماً) ورقبتها وجسدها وأنهت حياتها خلال دقائق، بل امتدت الصدمة إلى كواليس الاستجواب، إذ شوهدت المذيعة السابقة تتحدث إلى نفسها أمام رجال الشرطة وتؤكد أن والدتها تحولت إلى «شيطان ينفث السموم»، مرددة بذهول أنها كانت تكرر طعنها حتى ترحل عن جسدها وتعود إليها «والدتها الحقيقية»!
