تجاهل رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) جياني إنفانتينو الأسئلة المتعلقة بمستقبله، مكتفياً بإلقاء مزحة سخيفة حول الصلع وقصة الشعر.
وكان إنفانتينو قد تعرض لانتقادات حادة من الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم، والاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم، واتحاد أمريكا الشمالية والوسطى والكاريبي (كونكاكاف)، بسبب مقترح مشروع «فيفا فوروارد إنتربرايز»، الذي كان يقضي ببيع حصص في كيان جديد تابع للاتحاد، بقيمة تُقدّر بنحو 20 مليار دولار، ورغم تراجع «فيفا» رسمياً عن المقترح إلا أن استمرار إنفانتينو في رئاسة الاتحاد الدولي بات محل تساؤلات.
إنفانتينو يسخر من المراسل
وأوقف مراسل شبكة «سكاي سبورتس»، جيمس ماثيوز، إنفانتينو خارج أحد الفنادق في جمهورية الدومينيكان، وسأله عما إذا كان قد خان كرة القدم، ولماذا لا يستقيل من منصبه.
ورد إنفانتينو بسخرية قائلاً: «قصة شعرك جميلة، شكراً جزيلاً، أراك عند مصفف الشعر»، في إشارة إلى أن كلاً من إنفانتينو وماثيوز أصلعان.
غضب واسع على مواقع التواصل
وأثار تعامل إنفانتينو مع المراسل غضب عدد من النشطاء على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، إذ كتب أحدهم: «مراسل سكاي سبورتس يطرح على إنفانتينو أسئلة جادة لم يُجب عنها، هذا مثال واضح على جهل إنفانتينو وغروره، وكأن شيئاً لم يحدث».
وكتب آخر: «سلوك غير مقبول من هذا الرجل، لا توجد أي مسؤولية على الإطلاق»، فيما علق شخص ثالث قائلاً: «يا له من مهرج!».

Infantino has faced sharp criticism from the Asian Football Confederation, UEFA, and the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) over the proposed "FIFA Forward Enterprise" project, which involved selling stakes in a new entity affiliated with the federation, valued at around $20 billion. Although FIFA has officially retracted the proposal, Infantino's continued presidency of the international federation has come into question.
Infantino Mocks the Reporter
Sky Sports reporter James Matthews stopped Infantino outside a hotel in the Dominican Republic and asked him if he had betrayed football and why he wouldn't resign from his position.
Infantino sarcastically replied, "Your hairstyle is lovely, thank you very much, I'll see you at the hairdresser," referring to the fact that both Infantino and Matthews are bald.
Widespread Anger on Social Media
Infantino's treatment of the reporter sparked anger among several activists on social media, with one writing: "Sky Sports reporter asks Infantino serious questions that he did not answer, this is a clear example of Infantino's ignorance and arrogance, as if nothing happened."
Another wrote: "Unacceptable behavior from this man, there is absolutely no accountability," while a third commented: "What a clown!"
