لم تمنع صرخات الراكب الكارثة التي وثقتها الكاميرا، في مشهد مرعب حبس أنفاس الملايين على المنصات الرقمية، وأثار مقطع الفيديو الذي جرى تداوله بكثافة موجة عارمة من الذهول والجدل، بعدما ظهرت سيارة أجرة ذاتية القيادة (روبوتاكسي) تابعة لشركة «تسلا» وهي تتصرف بجموح متهور ودون سائق أمان، إثر وقوعها في خطأ ملاحي قاتل وسط الشارع!
بدأت الدراما عندما انحرفت السيارة الذكية بالخطأ نحو مسار محاصر بالحواجز المرورية البلاستيكية. وأمام توقف المركبة وتجمد برمجياتها لقرابة دقيقة كاملة مع تحرك عجلة القيادة بتردد، راح الراكب الوحيد يصرخ بذهول محاولاً تحذير نظام الذكاء الاصطناعي: «هناك حواجز هنا.. لا يمكنك المرور من هذا الطريق!».
وبدلاً من التراجع للخلف لتصحيح المسار، اتخذ عقل السيارة الاصطناعي قراراً يصعب تصديقه، إذ اندفعت إلى الأمام مباشرة وداست الحواجز المرورية وقامت بدهسها وسط حالة من الشلل والصدمة أصابت الراكب الذي صاح: «لقد مرت عبر الحواجز.. يا إلهي!».
وأعاد هذا الإخفاق التقني الكبير فتح ملف سلامة السيارات ذاتية القيادة على مصراعيه، واضعاً برمجيات شركة «تسلا» في موقف محرج للغاية، إذ أظهر الفيديو أن السيارة رصدت العوائق بالفعل لكنها اختارت اقتحامها بدلاً من تفاديها.
ويأتي هذا الحادث الصادم بعد أسابيع قليلة من تفاخر الشركة برصيد أمان أسطولها، ليكشف فجوة كبيرة بين تصريحات إيلون ماسك حول «الهوس بالسلامة» وبين ما يجري فعلياً على أرض الواقع في الشوارع.

The video clip that was widely circulated sparked a wave of shock and controversy after a self-driving taxi (robotaxi) from Tesla was seen behaving recklessly and without a safety driver, following a fatal navigational error in the middle of the street!
The drama began when the smart car mistakenly veered towards a lane blocked by plastic traffic barriers. As the vehicle stopped and its software froze for nearly a full minute with the steering wheel moving hesitantly, the sole passenger screamed in shock, trying to warn the AI system: “There are barriers here... you can’t go through this road!”.
Instead of reversing to correct its course, the car's artificial intelligence made an unbelievable decision, as it surged forward directly, crushing the traffic barriers in a state of paralysis and shock that struck the passenger, who shouted: “It went through the barriers... oh my God!”.
This significant technical failure reopened the file on the safety of self-driving cars wide open, placing Tesla's software in an extremely embarrassing position, as the video showed that the car did indeed detect the obstacles but chose to crash through them instead of avoiding them.
This shocking incident comes just weeks after the company boasted about its fleet's safety record, revealing a significant gap between Elon Musk's statements about the "obsession with safety" and what is actually happening on the ground in the streets.
