في تطور أمني خطير يمس الحياة اليومية لآلاف الأمريكيين، تلقت أجهزة الأمن القومي في الولايات المتحدة صفعة سيبرانية غير مسبوقة، بعدما أصدرت وكالة الدفاع السيبراني الحكومية تحذيراً عاجلاً وطارئاً لمشغلي أنظمة المياه ومياه الصرف الصحي بضرورة فصل كافة التقنيات والأنظمة عن شبكة الإنترنت فوراً وبأسرع وقت ممكن.

وكشف المحققون والمسؤولون الأمريكيون أن الهجمات لم تكن مجرد اختراق عادي، بل شملت سيطرة عدائية قام خلالها القراصنة بتغيير كلمات المرور لمنع المشغلين المحليين من التحكم بالأنظمة، وفصل أجهزة الرقابة والتوزيع، مما أجبر السلطات على إجبار السكان على غلق المياه ودفع المنشآت للتحول إلى التشغيل اليدوي البدائي.
وفي الوقت الذي يراجع فيه مسؤولو واشنطن ملابسات الزلزال الرقمي، وجهت تقارير صحفية استناداً لمصادر استخباراتية أصابع الاتهام المباشرة إلى مجموعات قرصنة مرتبطة بالحكومة الإيرانية، مستغلة حالة التصعيد العسكري القائم وتبادل ضربات الصواريخ بين الطرفين، لتحويل البنية التحتية والمياه الأمريكية إلى ساحة مواجهة جديدة.
ورغم تأكيدات ولاية مينيسوتا بأن سلامة مياه الشرب لم تُمس كيميائياً حتى اللحظة، إلا أن خروج شاشات التحكم ووحدات البرمجة (PLC) عن الخدمة يمثل نذير خطر حقيقي يهدد المنظومة بأكملها.
وأكد خبراء أمن سيبراني مسؤولون سابقون بالـ FBI أن ما جرى ليس سوى امتداداً لحملات اختراق معقدة تستهدف البنية التحتية الحساسة للولايات المتحدة، مشيرين إلى أن الحرب انتقلت رسمياً من ميادين الصواريخ إلى «صمامات المياه» داخل المنازل الأمريكية!
