فُقد الاتصال بطائرة شحن تابعة لشركة «K2 Airways» الباكستانية كانت في طريقها من الشارقة إلى كراتشي، وعلى متنها خمسة من أفراد الطاقم، بعد تعرضها لحادث فوق بحر العرب.
وأعلنت هيئة المطارات الباكستانية أن الطائرة -وهي من طراز بوينغ 737- أبلغت مركز المراقبة الجوية في كراتشي عند الساعة 9:18 مساءً بوجود خلل في نظام الملاحة، قبل أن تُظهر شاشات الرادار هبوطًا سريعًا للطائرة مع تغير مفاجئ في مسارها، ثم انقطع الاتصال بها على بعد نحو 155 ميلًا بحريًا غرب مدينة كراتشي.
وعقب الحادث، فعّلت السلطات مركز تنسيق الإنقاذ، وأطلقت عملية بحث واسعة في بحر العرب بمشاركة هيئة الطيران المدني، والبحرية، والقوات الجوية الباكستانية، إلى جانب سفينة تابعة لشركة الشحن الوطنية الباكستانية.
Contact was lost with a cargo plane belonging to "K2 Airways," a Pakistani airline, which was en route from Sharjah to Karachi, carrying five crew members, after it encountered an incident over the Arabian Sea.
The Pakistani Airports Authority announced that the aircraft - a Boeing 737 - reported a malfunction in its navigation system to the Karachi air traffic control center at 9:18 PM, before radar screens showed a rapid descent of the plane with a sudden change in its course, after which contact was lost about 155 nautical miles west of Karachi.
Following the incident, authorities activated the rescue coordination center and launched a wide search operation in the Arabian Sea with the participation of the Civil Aviation Authority, the Navy, and the Pakistan Air Force, along with a vessel from the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation.
