وحذّرت هيئة الأرصاد الجوية من تحرك الإعصار عبر أجزاء من مدينة إنيد شمال الولاية، التي يقطنها نحو 50 ألف نسمة، مع توقعات باستمرار الطقس غير المستقر.
وأفاد المتحدث باسم شرطة إنيد بوجود تقارير أولية عن أشخاص يُحتمل أن يكونوا محاصرين داخل منازلهم، إلى جانب تسجيل أضرار كبيرة في عدد من المباني.
وأظهرت مقاطع متداولة عبر الإنترنت عمودًا هوائيًا سريع الحركة ألحق أضرارًا بمنازل عدة، وأسقط أعمدة كهرباء، وتسبب في إغلاق بعض الطرق.
A powerful tornado struck the state of Oklahoma, causing widespread material damage and prompting emergency teams to mobilize, especially in rural areas near Vance Air Force Base.
The meteorological agency warned of the tornado moving through parts of the city of Enid in the north of the state, which has a population of about 50,000, with forecasts of continued unstable weather.
The spokesperson for the Enid Police reported initial reports of people potentially trapped inside their homes, along with significant damage recorded in several buildings.
Videos circulating online showed a fast-moving funnel cloud causing damage to several homes, knocking down power poles, and leading to the closure of some roads.
