نفت وزارة الصحة المصرية بشكل قاطع وجود أي تفشيات وبائية لمرض الالتهاب السحائي (السحايا) في البلاد، مؤكدة أن ما يتم تداوله على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي ومنصات التواصل عبارة عن شائعات مضللة تهدف إلى نشر الذعر بين المواطنين.
وأوضحت الوزارة في بيان رسمي صادر اليوم (السبت)، أن قرار رفع درجة الاستعداد في المستشفيات خلال الأيام الماضية جاء استجابة مباشرة للتقلبات الجوية الشديدة التي تشهدها البلاد، وحالة عدم استقرار الطقس، وليس له أي علاقة بأي مرض معدٍ أو وبائي.
ووصفت الوزارة هذا الإجراء بأنه روتيني اعتيادي تتخذه الوزارة في مثل هذه الظروف المناخية لضمان جاهزية تامة لأقسام الطوارئ والعناية المركزة.
مصر خالية من التفشيات الوبائية
وأكدت الوزارة أن مصر خالية تماماً من أي تفشيات وبائية لمرض الالتهاب السحائي، وأن أي حالة إيجابية فردية تُكتشف تُعامل وفقاً للبروتوكولات المعتمدة دولياً من منظمة الصحة العالمية، وتشمل هذه البروتوكولات: الترصد الدقيق والمستمر للمخالطين، صرف الجرعات الوقائية اللازمة (المضادات الحيوية المناسبة) لمنع انتقال العدوى، التحاليل المخبرية المتقدمة لتحديد نوع العدوى (بكتيرية أو فيروسية أو غيرها).
وأشارت الوزارة إلى أن معدل الإصابة بالنوع البكتيري المعدي من المرض في مصر منخفض جداً، حيث نجحت البلاد في السيطرة عليه منذ عام 1989، وانخفض المعدل إلى نحو0.02 حالة لكل 100 ألف نسمة في السنوات الأخيرة، وهو أقل بكثير من العتبة الوبائية العالمية (5 حالات لكل 100 ألف).
وتهيب الوزارة بالمواطنين الابتعاد عن الشائعات والآراء غير الموثوقة التي تنتشر على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، والتي غالباً ما تهدف إلى زيادة المشاهدات والتفاعلات، وشددت على ضرورة استقاء المعلومات حصرياً من المصادر الرسمية للوزارة لتجنب نشر الذعر غير المبرر.
The Egyptian Ministry of Health has categorically denied the existence of any epidemic outbreaks of meningitis (meningitis) in the country, confirming that what is being circulated on social media and communication platforms consists of misleading rumors aimed at spreading panic among citizens.
The ministry clarified in an official statement issued today (Saturday) that the decision to raise the state of readiness in hospitals over the past few days was a direct response to the severe weather fluctuations the country is experiencing and the instability of the weather, and it is not related to any infectious or epidemic disease.
The ministry described this measure as a routine procedure taken by the ministry under such climatic conditions to ensure full readiness of emergency and intensive care departments.
Egypt is free from epidemic outbreaks
The ministry confirmed that Egypt is completely free from any epidemic outbreaks of meningitis, and that any individual positive case discovered is treated according to internationally approved protocols from the World Health Organization. These protocols include: precise and continuous monitoring of contacts, administering necessary preventive doses (appropriate antibiotics) to prevent the transmission of infection, and advanced laboratory tests to determine the type of infection (bacterial, viral, or other).
The ministry pointed out that the incidence rate of the infectious bacterial type of the disease in Egypt is very low, as the country has successfully controlled it since 1989, with the rate dropping to about 0.02 cases per 100,000 people in recent years, which is much lower than the global epidemic threshold (5 cases per 100,000).
The ministry urges citizens to stay away from rumors and unreliable opinions that spread on social media, which often aim to increase views and interactions, and emphasized the necessity of obtaining information exclusively from the ministry's official sources to avoid spreading unwarranted panic.
