في موقف يعكس جانبه الإنساني بعيداً عن أضواء الملاعب، تدخّل النجم الإنجليزي السابق ديفيد بيكهام لمساعدة امرأة بريطانية تعرّضت لسقوط مفاجئ أثناء التزلج في منتجع كورشوفيل الفاخر بجبال الألب الفرنسية، حيث كان يقضي عطلة عائلية الأسبوع الماضي.
وبحسب ما أوردته صحيفة ذا صن، فإن بيكهام (50 عاماً) لمح المرأة لحظة ارتطام رأسها بالمنحدر، فسارع نحوها للاطمئنان عليها، وساعدها في خلع زلاجاتها، وبقي بجانبها حتى تأكد من استقرار حالتها الصحية.
ونقلت الصحيفة عن مصدر قوله إن بيكهام بدا قلقاً للغاية، وتصرف بنبل واضح، فيما كان مدرب التزلج المرافق له داعماً ومتعاوناً خلال الموقف.
ومنذ اعتزاله كرة القدم عام 2013، اتجه بيكهام إلى ممارسة التزلج كهواية مفضلة، مستمتعاً بوقته بعيداً عن المستطيل الأخضر الذي شهد تألقه مع مانشستر يونايتد وكذلك بقميص منتخب إنجلترا.
وكان برفقته أثناء الحادث ابنته هاربر هاربر بيكهام (14 عاماً)، في رحلة تُعد الأولى للعائلة منذ تصاعد التوتر مع نجله الأكبر بروكلين بيكهام (26 عاماً)، على خلفية بيان أثار جدلاً الشهر الماضي.
ويحرص بيكهام وزوجته، مصممة الأزياء فيكتوريا بيكهام، على زيارة كورشوفيل بانتظام، إذ يُعد المنتجع محطة مفضلة لنجوم الفن والرياضة، إلى جانب شخصيات بارزة من العائلات الملكية، من بينهم الأمير ويليام.
In a situation that reflects his human side away from the spotlight, former English star David Beckham intervened to help a British woman who suffered a sudden fall while skiing at the luxurious Courchevel resort in the French Alps, where he was spending a family holiday last week.
According to The Sun newspaper, Beckham (50 years old) spotted the woman at the moment her head hit the slope, so he rushed over to check on her, helped her take off her skis, and stayed by her side until he was sure her health condition was stable.
The newspaper quoted a source saying that Beckham appeared very concerned and acted with clear nobility, while the accompanying ski instructor was supportive and cooperative during the incident.
Since retiring from football in 2013, Beckham has taken up skiing as a favorite hobby, enjoying his time away from the green pitch where he shone with Manchester United as well as in the England national team jersey.
His daughter Harper Beckham (14 years old) was with him during the incident, on a trip that marks the family's first since tensions escalated with his eldest son Brooklyn Beckham (26 years old) following a controversial statement last month.
Beckham and his wife, fashion designer Victoria Beckham, regularly visit Courchevel, as the resort is a favorite spot for stars from the arts and sports, alongside prominent figures from royal families, including Prince William.
