تحولت صفقة بيع سيارة عبر منصة «فيسبوك ماركت بليس» إلى جريمة قتل مروعة، بعدما أقدم شاب يبلغ 19 عامًا على قتل سيدة حامل في شهرها الخامس داخل شقتها بولاية إلينوي الأمريكية، في واقعة صدمت الرأي العام وكشفت مخاطر التعاملات غير الآمنة عبر منصات التواصل.
وبحسب ما أعلنت السلطات الأمريكية، فإن المتهم نيداس ريفوكاس دخل شقة الضحية إليزا موراليس، البالغة من العمر 30 عامًا، بدافع الغضب بعد خلاف على حالة مركبة قديمة اشتراها من زوجها، قبل أن ينفذ جريمته باستخدام أداة حادة.
ووثّقت كاميرات المراقبة لحظات حاسمة قبل الجريمة، حيث ظهر المتهم وهو يعود إلى المبنى بعد دقائق من مغادرته، حاملاً أداة أخفاها خلف ظهره، ثم دخل شقة الضحية، لتندلع بعدها مواجهة عنيفة عند باب الشقة.
وبعد نحو 10 دقائق، تصاعد الدخان من داخل الوحدة السكنية، ما دفع الجيران لإبلاغ الطوارئ. وعند وصول فرق الإطفاء، عُثر على الضحية مصابة بجروح قاتلة قرب مدخل الشقة، بينما كشف تقرير الطب الشرعي لاحقًا تعرضها لـ70 طعنة، معظمها في الرأس والعنق.
وكشفت التحقيقات أن المتهم لم يكتفِ بالقتل، بل أضرم النار عمدًا داخل الشقة باستخدام أدوات منزلية ومواد مسرعة للاشتعال، في محاولة لطمس معالم الجريمة، كما اعتدى على كلب العائلة الذي نجا بأعجوبة بعد فراره أثناء الحريق.
وضبطت الشرطة أدلة دامغة في منزل المتهم، شملت ملابس ملطخة بالدماء ومقتنيات شخصية للضحية، جرى التخلص منها في مواقع مختلفة، وفق ما أقر به خلال التحقيق.
وأكد المحققون أن الضحية أبلغت المتهم أثناء الاعتداء بأنها حامل، إلا أنه واصل هجومه حتى فارقت الحياة، ما دفع الادعاء العام لتوجيه تهم ثقيلة شملت القتل من الدرجة الأولى، وقتل جنين عمدًا، والحريق العمد، والسرقة بالإكراه، وإيذاء الحيوانات.
ومن المقرر أن يمثل المتهم أمام القضاء في قضية أعادت إلى الواجهة التحذيرات من مخاطر الصفقات الفردية غير المؤمنة عبر الإنترنت.
A car sale transaction through the "Facebook Marketplace" turned into a horrific murder, after a 19-year-old man killed a pregnant woman in her fifth month inside her apartment in the state of Illinois, USA, in an incident that shocked public opinion and revealed the dangers of unsafe transactions on social media platforms.
According to what U.S. authorities announced, the accused, Nidas Rivokas, entered the apartment of the victim, Eliza Morales, 30 years old, out of anger after a dispute over the condition of an old vehicle he had purchased from her husband, before committing his crime using a sharp object.
Surveillance cameras captured critical moments before the crime, showing the accused returning to the building minutes after leaving, carrying a tool he had hidden behind his back, then entering the victim's apartment, leading to a violent confrontation at the apartment door.
About 10 minutes later, smoke began to rise from inside the unit, prompting neighbors to call emergency services. Upon the arrival of firefighting teams, the victim was found with fatal injuries near the entrance of the apartment, while a later autopsy report revealed that she had suffered 70 stab wounds, most of them to the head and neck.
Investigations revealed that the accused did not stop at murder; he intentionally set the apartment on fire using household tools and accelerants in an attempt to cover up the crime, and he also assaulted the family dog, which miraculously survived after escaping during the fire.
The police found compelling evidence in the accused's home, including blood-stained clothing and personal belongings of the victim, which he disposed of in various locations, as he admitted during the investigation.
Investigators confirmed that the victim informed the accused during the assault that she was pregnant, yet he continued his attack until she died, prompting the prosecution to file serious charges including first-degree murder, intentional killing of a fetus, arson, armed robbery, and animal cruelty.
The accused is set to appear in court in a case that has brought back warnings about the dangers of unsecured individual transactions online.
