أكد وزير المواصلات والاتصالات البحريني رئيس مجلس أمناء مركز الملك حمد العالمي للتعايش والتسامح الدكتور الشيخ عبدالله بن أحمد آل خليفة، أن مملكة البحرين سجلت إنجازاً عالمياً جديداً بتصدرها دول العالم في كثافة دور العبادة قياساً إلى المساحة، وفق اعتماد رسمي من موسوعة غينيس للأرقام القياسية، بمعدل 2.577 دار عبادة لكل كيلومتر مربع.
جاء ذلك خلال احتفالية أقامها مركز الملك حمد العالمي للتعايش والتسامح بمناسبة اليوم الدولي للتعايش السلمي، بحضور مسؤولين ودبلوماسيين وشخصيات برلمانية ودينية وأممية، وأشار إلى أن هذا الإنجاز يعكس التزام البحرين الراسخ بحرية المعتقد واحترام التنوع الديني والثقافي، في ظل رعاية القيادة وتوجيهاتها.
وأوضح أن الرقم القياسي لا يمثل مجرد إحصاء، بل شاهد حضاري على عمق الهوية البحرينية ونهجها في رعاية الشعائر لمختلف الأديان والمذاهب ضمن إطار من الوحدة الوطنية والتلاحم المجتمعي، وبما يتسق مع مبادئ إعلان مملكة البحرين.
من جانبه، أكد المنسق المقيم لأنشطة الأمم المتحدة في البحرين أهمية اليوم الدولي للتعايش السلمي ودلالاته العالمية، مشيداً بالدور الريادي للبحرين في ترسيخ قيم التسامح والحوار وقبول التنوع.
وشهد الحفل حضور محكّم معتمد من موسوعة غينيس، أعلن رسمياً اعتماد الرقم القياسي وتسليم شهادة التسجيل بعد استيفاء جميع المعايير المعتمدة عالمياً.
The Bahraini Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence, Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, confirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain has achieved a new global milestone by ranking first in the world in the density of places of worship relative to its area, according to official recognition from the Guinness World Records, with an average of 2.577 places of worship per square kilometer.
This was stated during a celebration held by the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence on the occasion of the International Day of Peaceful Coexistence, attended by officials, diplomats, parliamentary, religious, and international figures. He pointed out that this achievement reflects Bahrain's steadfast commitment to freedom of belief and respect for religious and cultural diversity, under the guidance and direction of its leadership.
He explained that the record does not merely represent a statistic, but is a cultural testament to the depth of Bahraini identity and its approach to nurturing the rituals of various religions and sects within a framework of national unity and community cohesion, in line with the principles of the Kingdom of Bahrain's declaration.
For his part, the UN Resident Coordinator for Activities in Bahrain emphasized the importance of the International Day of Peaceful Coexistence and its global implications, praising Bahrain's pioneering role in establishing values of tolerance, dialogue, and acceptance of diversity.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of an official adjudicator from the Guinness World Records, who officially announced the recognition of the record and handed over the registration certificate after meeting all globally approved criteria.
