أثارت صور رسمية نشرها مكتب رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو، وتظهر زوجته سارة نتنياهو (67 عاماً) خلال إضاءة شموع عيد الحانوكا عند حائط البراق، موجة من الجدل والانتقادات الحادة في إسرائيل، بعد اكتشاف أنها خضعت لتعديل رقمي مكثف (فوتوشوب) لتحسين مظهرها بشكل ملحوظ.
الصور، التي بدت وكأنها مرشحة للحفظ في الأرشيف الوطني الإسرائيلي، تظهر رئيس الوزراء برفقة زوجته، والسفير الأمريكي مايك هاكابي، ومجموعة من الجنود الإسرائيليين، وهم يضيئون الشموع في الموقع المقدس، لكن اللافت كان مظهر سارة نتنياهو التي ظهرت في بشرة خالية تماماً من المسام، وعيون محددة بشكل مبالغ فيه، وشعر مصفف بإتقان فائق، وهو ما اعترف مسؤولون حكوميون بأنه نتيجة تنقيح وتعديل رقمي كثيف.
وبحسب تقرير لوكالة أسوشييتد برس، فإن سارة نتنياهو اعتادت منذ فترة طويلة على استخدام برامج التعديل على صورها الشخصية في حساباتها على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، لكن دخول هذه الممارسة إلى الصور الرسمية التي تُوزع عبر مكتب رئيس الوزراء أثار مخاوف جدية بشأن مصداقية التوثيق التاريخي ونزاهة السجلات الرسمية للدولة.

ورداً على هذا الجدل، أكد مدير مكتب الصحافة الحكومي نيتسان تشين أن صور رئيس الوزراء بنفسه لا تخضع لأي تعديل «لا فوتوشوب، لا تصحيحات، لا تغيير ألوان»، لكن الصور التي تظهر فيها سارة نتنياهو شهدت تعديلات.
ووفقاً لوسائل إعلام عربية فإن المكتب قرر إضافة اسم سارة نتنياهو كمصدر أو معدِّل للصور في البيانات الصحفية التي تحتوي على صور معدلة لها، وذلك منذ نوفمبر الماضي، وذلك كإجراء استثنائي ومسبوق، من جانبها، أعلنت بعض وسائل الإعلام الإسرائيلية، مثل تايمز أوف إسرائيل، أنها لن تنشر بعد الآن صوراً رسمية تبدو معدلة.
وتعتبر سارة نتنياهو شخصية مثيرة للجدل في إسرائيل منذ سنوات طويلة، حيث واجهت انتقادات متكررة بسبب تدخلاتها المزعومة في الشؤون الحكومية، وأسلوب حياتها الفاخر، وعلاقتها بالإعلام.
وبدأت التعديلات الرقمية على صورتها تظهر بشكل ملحوظ منذ منتصف عام 2025، في مناسبات مثل زيارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، ولقاءات في واشنطن ونيويورك، وأحداث أخرى.
ويرى خبراء مثل تهيلا شوارتز ألتشولر من معهد الديموقراطية الإسرائيلي أن هذه الممارسة جزء من «كتيب اللعب الشعبوي»، وتشبه أساليب الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب في استخدام التكنولوجيا لصناعة صورة مثالية.

According to a report by the Associated Press, Sara Netanyahu has long been accustomed to using editing software on her personal photos for her social media accounts, but the inclusion of this practice in official photos distributed by the Prime Minister's office has raised serious concerns about the credibility of historical documentation and the integrity of the state's official records.

Reactions and Government Actions
In response to this controversy, government press office director Nitzan Chen confirmed that the Prime Minister's own photos do not undergo any alterations: "No Photoshop, no corrections, no color changes," but the photos featuring Sara Netanyahu have been modified.
According to Arab media, the office decided to add Sara Netanyahu's name as the source or modifier of the photos in press releases containing her altered images since last November, as an exceptional and unprecedented measure. For its part, some Israeli media outlets, such as The Times of Israel, announced that they would no longer publish official photos that appear altered.
Sara Netanyahu has been a controversial figure in Israel for many years, facing repeated criticism for her alleged interference in government affairs, her lavish lifestyle, and her relationship with the media.
Digital alterations to her image have become noticeably apparent since mid-2025, during occasions such as the visit of U.S. President Donald Trump, meetings in Washington and New York, and other events.
Experts like Tehila Schwartz Altshuler from the Israeli Democracy Institute view this practice as part of a "populist playbook," resembling U.S. President Donald Trump's methods of using technology to create an idealized image.
Conversely, others have warned that manipulating official images could constitute a falsification of history and promote a culture of "personality cult" in official documentation.
