هزّت جريمة مأساوية مدينة لاس فيغاس بعد أن أقدم شاب يبلغ من العمر 27 عامًا على ضرب والديه حتى الموت بمضرب بيسبول، قبل أن يتصل بالشرطة طالبًا منهم إطلاق النار عليه فور مشاهدته.
ووفقًا لتقارير محلية، بدأ كل شيء عندما اتصل أدريان بيلي بخدمة الطوارئ أمس (السبت) معترفًا بفعلته وقال إنه لم يعد قادرًا على التحمل، قبل أن يضيف في مكالمة لاحقة أنه يشكل تهديدًا لنفسه وللآخرين ويجب التعامل معه فورًا.
وعندما وصلت الشرطة إلى المنزل الكائن في شارع نيو برونزويك، وجدت الأب روجر بيلي ميتًا في غرفة المعيشة، بينما نُقلت الأم كريستين بيلي إلى المستشفى لكنها فارقت الحياة لاحقًا متأثرة بإصابتها البالغة في الرأس.
وأشارت الشكوى الجنائية إلى أن أدريان استخدم مضرب بيسبول لتنفيذ الجريمة، وتم احتجازه في مركز احتجاز مقاطعة كلارك، ووجهت له تهمتان بالقتل باستخدام سلاح قاتل.
وكان الأب روجر بيلي شخصية محترمة في المجتمع المحلي، حيث خدم لأكثر من 32 عامًا وكان عضوًا بارزًا في مجلس Grand Canyon Synod بين عامي 2019 و2025، ووصفه السكان بأنه قائد ملتزم وهادئ. أما الأم كريستين بيلي فكانت ناشطة في برامج الأطفال وكنيسة المجتمع المحلي، وأعربت جارة الأسرة فيرجينيا زيمرمان عن صدمتها: «عرفتهم منذ سنوات طويلة.. وما حدث يفطر القلب».
وتواصل الشرطة تحقيقاتها، وطالبت أي شخص لديه معلومات إضافية عن الواقعة بالتواصل مع قسم جرائم القتل لتعزيز التحقيقات وكشف ملابسات الجريمة.
A tragic crime has shaken the city of Las Vegas after a 27-year-old man beat his parents to death with a baseball bat, before calling the police and asking them to shoot him upon their arrival.
According to local reports, everything began when Adrian Bailey called emergency services yesterday (Saturday), confessing to his act and stating that he could no longer bear it. He later added in a subsequent call that he posed a threat to himself and others and needed to be dealt with immediately.
When the police arrived at the home located on New Brunswick Street, they found father Roger Bailey dead in the living room, while mother Christine Bailey was taken to the hospital but later died from her severe head injuries.
The criminal complaint indicated that Adrian used a baseball bat to commit the crime, and he was detained at the Clark County Detention Center, facing two counts of murder with a deadly weapon.
Father Roger Bailey was a respected figure in the local community, having served for over 32 years and being a prominent member of the Grand Canyon Synod Council from 2019 to 2025. Residents described him as a committed and calm leader. Mother Christine Bailey was active in children's programs and the local community church, and family neighbor Virginia Zimmerman expressed her shock: "I have known them for many years... what happened is heartbreaking."
The police continue their investigations and have urged anyone with additional information about the incident to contact the homicide department to assist in the investigations and uncover the circumstances of the crime.
