شهد حي نيلوفر في ولاية بورصة التركية أمس (الخميس) واقعة درامية كادت تتحول إلى كارثة، لكن يقظة مسنّة أنقذت 31 شخصًا قبل وقوع الانهيار. كانت المرأة تمارس نزهتها الصباحية حين لاحظت انزلاقًا واضحًا في جدار استنادي وممر مشاة خلف أحد المساجد، على مقربة من دورة تحفيظ القرآن التابعة له.
وبمجرد ملاحظتها للخطر، تواصلت المسنّة مع دار الإفتاء المحلية محذّرة من الوضع، وهو ما أدى إلى تحرك عاجل من فرق الشرطة، والإطفاء، والبلدية، وإغلاق الطريق أمام المرور، وإخلاء دار التحفيظ التي تضم 16 طفلًا بين 4 و6 سنوات، و15 امرأة من الكادر التعليمي، دون تسجيل أي إصابات. كما تم إغلاق المسجد أمام المصلين بعد صلاة الظهر، وتعليق الدراسة مؤقتًا.
بعد نحو 9 ساعات وخمس وأربعين دقيقة، انهار الجدار والممر بشكل مفاجئ، وسقطا على الحديقة الخلفية للمسجد وعلى مبنى دار التحفيظ، متسبّبين في أضرار مادية جسيمة، لكن دون خسائر بشرية، وذلك داخل المنطقة التي سبق حصرها وإخضاعها للإجراءات الاحترازية.
رئيس جمعية المسجد حامد كارا، أوضح أن الانهيار أضر بثلاثة أعمدة حاملة داخل المسجد وترك ثقوبًا في جدار دار التحفيظ، مؤكدًا أن بلاغ المسنّة أنقذ حياة المصلين والطلاب: «لولا تدخلها لما كنا على علم بموعد الانهيار، وبالتالي لما اتخذنا أي تدابير احترازية».
وتحوّلت الواقعة إلى حديث سكان الحي، الذين أثنوا على يقظة المرأة، معتبرين أن هذه اللحظة العفوية أنقذت عشرات الأرواح من مأساة محتملة.
The Nilüfer district in Turkey's Bursa province witnessed a dramatic incident yesterday (Thursday) that nearly turned into a disaster, but the vigilance of an elderly woman saved 31 people before the collapse occurred. The woman was out for her morning walk when she noticed a clear slip in a retaining wall and a pedestrian walkway behind one of the mosques, close to the Quran memorization center associated with it.
As soon as she noticed the danger, the elderly woman contacted the local fatwa office, warning about the situation, which led to an urgent response from police, fire, and municipal teams, closing the road to traffic, and evacuating the memorization center that housed 16 children aged between 4 and 6 years, along with 15 women from the teaching staff, with no injuries reported. The mosque was also closed to worshippers after the noon prayer, and classes were temporarily suspended.
About 9 hours and 45 minutes later, the wall and walkway collapsed suddenly, falling onto the mosque's backyard and the memorization center building, causing significant material damage but no human casualties, within the area that had previously been identified and subjected to precautionary measures.
The head of the mosque association, Hamid Kara, explained that the collapse damaged three supporting columns inside the mosque and left holes in the wall of the memorization center, emphasizing that the elderly woman's report saved the lives of worshippers and students: "If it weren't for her intervention, we wouldn't have been aware of the timing of the collapse, and thus we wouldn't have taken any precautionary measures."
The incident has become a topic of conversation among the neighborhood residents, who praised the woman's vigilance, considering that this spontaneous moment saved dozens of lives from a potential tragedy.
