في خطوة غير مسبوقة قد تُشكل نموذجاً للأزواج أصحاب الحيوانات الأليفة، وافق رجل تركي يُدعى بوغرا على دفع نفقة ربع سنوية قدرها 10,000 ليرة تركية (نحو 240 دولاراً أمريكياً) لتغطية نفقات رعاية قطتيه كجزء من اتفاق طلاقه من زوجته إيزجي.
جاء هذا الاتفاق ضمن وثيقة طلاق متفق عليها بين الطرفين في إسطنبول، التي استندت إلى «عدم التوافق الشديد وانهيار أساس الزواج»، دون المطالبة بتعويضات مالية أو نفقة زوجية.
بند في وثيقة الطلاق لرعاية الحيوانات الأليفة
لكن الزوجين أدرجا بنداً فريداً في الوثيقة يتعلق برعاية حيواناتهما الأليفة، ما قد يُحدث تغييراً في التعامل مع قضايا الطلاق في تركيا.
ووفقاً لوثيقة الطلاق، تنص الاتفاقية على أن القطتين، اللتين كانتا تحت رعاية بوغرا خلال الزواج، ستبقيان في حضانة إيزجي بعد انتهاء الزواج.
10 آلاف ليرة تركية
وسيتحمل بوغرا نفقاتهما المالية بدفع 10,000 ليرة كل 3 أشهر لمدة تصل إلى 10 سنوات، طالما بقيت القطتان مع إيزجي.
كما نص الاتفاق على زيادة هذا المبلغ سنوياً بناءً على نسبة التضخم وفقاً لمؤشر أسعار المستهلك (CPI-EFE) الصادر عن هيئة الإحصاء التركية (TÜİK).
سابقة في تركيا
في تركيا، لا يوجد تشريع محدد ينظم نفقة الحيوانات الأليفة في قضايا الطلاق، ما يجعل هذا الاتفاق طوعياً وغير ملزم قانونياً إلا بموافقة الطرفين، لكن الخبراء القانونيين يرون أن هذه الخطوة قد تُلهم قضايا مستقبلية، خصوصاً مع تزايد أعداد الأسر التي تعتبر الحيوانات الأليفة جزءاً من العائلة.
ووفقاً لتقرير صادر عن جمعية حماية الحيوانات في تركيا عام 2024، يمتلك نحو 35% من الأسر في إسطنبول حيوانات أليفة، ما يبرز أهمية هذه القضية.
ولم يُفصح الزوجان عن سلالتي القطتين أو اسميهما، لكن مصادر مقربة أشارت إلى أن إيزجي، وهي من محبي القطط، كانت المسؤولة الرئيسية عن رعايتهما خلال الزواج، ما دفعها للمطالبة بحضانتهما، لكن يُعتقد أن القطتين من سلالات نادرة، مثل الفرس أو الأنغورا التركية، ما يرفع تكاليف العناية بهما (الغذاء، العلاج البيطري، والإكسسوارات).
In an unprecedented step that may set a model for couples with pets, a Turkish man named Bogra agreed to pay a quarterly alimony of 10,000 Turkish Lira (about 240 US dollars) to cover the care expenses of his two cats as part of his divorce agreement with his wife, Izgi.
This agreement was included in a divorce document mutually agreed upon by both parties in Istanbul, which was based on "severe incompatibility and the breakdown of the marriage foundation," without any claims for financial compensation or spousal support.
A Clause in the Divorce Document for Pet Care
However, the couple included a unique clause in the document regarding the care of their pets, which could bring about a change in how divorce cases are handled in Turkey.
According to the divorce document, the agreement states that the two cats, which were under Bogra's care during the marriage, will remain in Izgi's custody after the marriage ends.
10,000 Turkish Lira
Bogra will bear their financial expenses by paying 10,000 Lira every 3 months for up to 10 years, as long as the cats remain with Izgi.
The agreement also stipulates an annual increase in this amount based on the inflation rate according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI-EFE) published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).
A Precedent in Turkey
In Turkey, there is no specific legislation regulating pet alimony in divorce cases, making this agreement voluntary and not legally binding unless both parties agree. However, legal experts believe that this step may inspire future cases, especially with the increasing number of families considering pets as part of the family.
According to a report by the Animal Protection Association in Turkey in 2024, about 35% of households in Istanbul own pets, highlighting the importance of this issue.
The couple did not disclose the breeds or names of the cats, but close sources indicated that Izgi, who is a cat lover, was the primary caregiver during the marriage, which led her to demand their custody. However, it is believed that the cats are of rare breeds, such as Persian or Turkish Angora, which raises the costs of caring for them (food, veterinary care, and accessories).
